Stud 6, 9, 13, 17, and 19 are my favorites overall
I'm a bit biased on black and red colors so 19 is my favorite, #17 bright/pink markings are pretty i just gave one of my girls colors that are similar so again I'm a bit biased,, for 13 again black and red is usually my go to, i love the way it looks,, 9 when they have ths evil pose I think it just makes them look that much better but their markings and the way they over lap and blend are amazing I love them,, 6 the brighter colored specks along with all of the dark colors jusy make it look that much better it really pops

20 looks to plain to me, while I do know they are some good markings,, imo it's just too plain. Same with 16 the evil pose makes it look better but the coat is still too plain. 10 just simply has a bit too much browns for me but it is pretty.

#20 - Top pick. Reminds me of a gentle morning after sunrise, when you can see just the north star. I don't usually like Glass as a base, but they're really good looking.

#14 - I'm a sucker for Seal rosettes & Windfall feralis. They've got both *chef's kiss*

#5 - I was torn, but 5 won me over. I think it's the eyes and cohesive look they have.

• Dislike:
Tie between 16 & 11. 16 looks...washed out, diluted. Like no marking is the main feature to focus on.
11 because it looks a bit undead with the black so heavy under the eyes.

-My top three picks right now are 13, 17, and 19

-13 I like because it has a darker theme. I'm a sucker for the darker themes and I think she could have some really cool lore behind her if you're into that stuff. I also like how the colors and markings mesh well.
-17 I like because she's colorful. I think it would get you a lot of studs and I would stud to her especially if you added a piebald mutation to her.
-19 i lovvveeee. I love the red vs white and how dark her skin is compared to the white on her. I think she has such a cool fiery theme I would 100% stud to her. Again, especially if you added a pie mut to her.

-I'm not a huge fan of several of the others, especially one's 1-6. I think they all look a little dull and plain. A lot of the popular kings I've seen are mostly full of color or at least have a good theme going but idk I'm just not a fan of how brown or monotone they are.

WHY DO I LIKE 19, 17, & 19?

I adore the colors on 19 and the pose is just the cherry on top!

stud 17 got second place because of the sunset vibes it’s overall just pleasing to the eyes and by the looks there seems to be a lot of marking going on marking wise which is always nice! I usually prefer darker studs but 17 would be an exception to that!

9 got third because of the markings.. alike to 17 there also seems to be a lot of markings going on & I like how the red blends in!

2 I DON’T LIKE & WHY

I’m not a super big fan of stud 3 or 5.
it’s the mane that kind of ruined it on stud 3 for me tbh.. I’m just not a huge fan of the gray against the brown.
as with stud 5.. the stud doesn’t stick out to me like the rest. maybe if stud 5 had a different pose it would pop out more?
other than those minor issues with them the rest looks pretty good!!

Faves:
#1 - Stud 19! I love Bloodstone bases sm, and I think that the white unders and matte skin really tie the design together <3
#2 - Stud 20! Glass is also a really good option for a base, the flow from sparkly blue to peach is fluid and I just love the design in general
#3 - Stud 12! Oooh a Snowflake! I love how the design is kinda spotted with a sprinkle of bushveld and other colors here and there. This is another great pick :)

What I don't really like Stud 12:
Snow flake base is indeed very pretty, but unfortunately it only passes in the wet season! This means you'll have to wait until dry season's over if you want your base to pass!

My absolute favorite of them is #20
The colors just flow together in such a nice way, it makes for a gorgeous looking stud with an amazing color/marking combo.

Second pick would be #19
they would also look amazing in an evil / snarky / neutral pose with lots of "evil" coded decor. Very pleasing to look at.

Stud #8
She reminds me of a flower tbh.

I think its pretty obvious from my choices that I'm not a big fan of marking/colorbombs. I find them messy and cluttered, specially without a piebald mut to make them just a tad more coherent. But then again, that's just my taste and if you l'd strongly prefer a color bomb, #17 would be your best choice!

I like 6, 17 and 18; mostly because I'm a sucker for dark colors and colorbombs/colorful lions. Number 6 especially if you decorated them with gold decor/a royal theme!

i love 8, 18, and 20
8- what can I say, just beautiful. the stripes aren't to dark nor to light, they fir into the design so well
18- with 18 it seems that the colors slash, but in a good way, with the stripes not to close and not to spaced out
20- the colors of 20 in my opinion just go together so well, nothing really clashing with each other too much

tho I'm not to big of a fan of 12, the feline mark doesn't make it look to good. the feline mark also likes to pass a TON and makes a ton of ugly potato cubs

so a mix of the two cubs linked below I think would make a pretty good stud, with the eyes, base, and cobweb mark from the first link mixed with the rest of the marks, skin, mane color and shape from the cub in the second link

In ascending order, I'd say the top 3 aaaare;

#20 - The colours look good together! They give a very galaxy // astral vibe in my eyes, which could be an excuse for a new and fun aesthetic change?👀

#19 - I absolutely love the red and black theme, and again it opens up possibilities to some very very cool profile aesthetics! The only reason this one isn't my top favourite is because I'm not a massive fan of contrasting dark grey // black with whites underneath.

My absolute favourite, #13 - Same as #19, I'm a sucker for the black and red combination, but I feel like the marks on this model have way more consistency and look less harshly separated // choppy than the previous lion!

What option do I dislike?

#17 & #16 - I personally just think the colours on #17 look really muddy and don't go well together, and the markings chosen make some patches of the lion far too plain, while other areas are far too crowded and overlapping! And for #16, it just looks far too saturated, there's not really any contrast to the colours, and there's nothing the eye can really focus on, nothing that stands out. Everything cancels eachother out and just makes it look . . A little bit plain?


I've been reading through other replies because I was curious, and some people actually gave some very good points towards lions I didn't choose.

My top three picks would be:

- Stud 8: I'm a fan of the end result! The coloring is pretty, and subtle. The longer you stare, you see more; like the red panther and thrashed mark on her back. I love when lions have markings that go well together, and I think this lion definitely takes that and runs with it. It's not messy/overwhelming, and the colors compliment each other.

- Stud 16: In love with the base, and her lighter color palette caught my eye. I'm a fan of less natural looking lions tbh, which I feel like becomes obvious with my lion pick. She's also got some colors I don't see often, like cinnabar and marigold. Would be nice to have some spreading out of those via cubs!

- Stud 20: Pretty and subtle! I love glass based lions, and irs a combo base factor so she'd get alot of attention. I like that she's got a bunch of marks, but they aren't all thrown in your face. Once again, just another simple, non overwhelming design that I'm feeling.

If I had to pick a lion I didn't like, it would be stud 13. There's just a lot going on with the red/orange color, and the margay on top makes it look messy, like layered in a way that makes it a bit much. I do love the base, but people might be put off by the brawl & squabble.

Hello everyone! Quick update as I forgot to mention this in the post, but for the dwarf heat I will be supplying a black stallion + chasteberries since she is “infertile” and maybe a couple yohimbe barks so I can save some of her future heats. Also, I haven’t figured out when I will do the raffles yet but I’m thinking March 10th-15th.

Thank you for your insights so far I really like reading what I can improve upon and what I did well ^^ I’m hoping to start an heir project and make one of these guys from scratch but I’m indecisive and love them all in their own way so seeing other people’s perspectives and thoughts helps narrow it down alot!

Top picks are 17, 20 and 14! I really, really like colorful lions, especially if the colors work well together, and I feel like these do the most
#17: it's no secret pink and lilac work wonders, but the black spots really help accentuate everything! She's not my top pick for looks only, but is def the one I'd most probably stud (I want those markings!! uwaahh), so I think she deserve first pick
#20: my top pick on looks only; her colors are hues and mesh together really well, creating this blue-ish, cloudy look that for me looks fantastical and really harmonizes
#14: those layers!! gaahh!! there's a lot happening in her markings but they bunch up and appear "grouped", so you can still see the layered structure-- it happens to quite a few of the choices here, but #17 was my fave because of the yellow-orange-red hue tinge

My least fave, personally, is #3; his mane color and shape, alongside the color of his markings/his base, make him look "dirty"-- markings start to blend and you can't tell them apart correctly. A similar thing happens to #2 and #13, but even then there's contrast enough to keep them looking "tidy" enough, whereas #2 for me just clashes a lot visually

My top 3 favorites! (Ranked)
#14— Oooooo gorgeous I love this one! The markings blend beautifully plus the white bottom and everything! Only thing that looks slightly off for me is the eye colour! It..just doesn't really match the rest of the "pink/warm" vibe going yk? For the eyes I suggest Arid/Draconid maybeeee Omen if but just a maybe.

#4— absolutely stunning imo, I don't really think I've seen a stud with that design before! The markings blend together pretty well too! Just some things I don't like about it will be the pink stripes overlapping the black stripes don't look so good imo, maybe layer the markings so the pink is behind the black stripes? Don't remove them cuz that might make the stud bland instead. Number two, the eyes. The eyes don't really match as well as the rest imo, so maybe warmer colours like Intense Salt/Reptile/Draconid (cuz tigery look)/Arid (if you want a softer look) or if you really want blue eyes then perhaps Dioptase?

#5— Number 5 looks cool! Very toned down in a nice way imo! Don't have a lot to say about this one but it's pretty! ^^

#7— Ehhhhh...like, the colours don't really match ig? Gives it a slight cluttered look, to me it looks like there's no end goal in mind and the markings were just thrown on the stud.

#10—Again, slightly cluttered. The top could have been a nice mix maybe but compared to the bottom...the bottom is just so...bland. Also another thing I don't like would be the white banding on the legs and the slight pinkish toes. Idk it just doesn't match with the upper body really...

#Anything from #1-6 excluding those I liked— Just...very cluttered. The marking colours don't really match plus the layering for #1&2 is just kinda wonky as well. As in the big purple patch randomly covering markings. #6 I like more, cluttering isn't as bad but I think there should be colours filling the space between markings maybe? Yk cuz rn you can see random bits of the base colour peeking through the marking gaps-

Origin not only has a l o a d of of BO, a Slender Pie mutation but he is iNsAnELy beautiful as well! I bred a CNCL to him and he gave me two cubs with a load of BO and Rare and Uncommon Bases! (If you wanna check the cubs their Fiery Hollow and Calm Morning in my pride!)

Qatze is beautiful! He’s a Svelte Rosette! Some features of him that might catch your eye would be his Svelte mutation, Ebony Heavy Rosette and his Orchid Base! Bred to him and got two beautiful cubs, one Orchid Base and one Svelte! (Who is Noctis too I think—). Only thing I regret is not checking whether their mother is clean so my adorable girls are dirty asf
