Hey there, So I have been trying to breed a Gon from this lovely little jerk and have done 4 heats with her this month. Of course, there wasn't a gon in any of the heats. I understand the pass rate is only 5%. But I am wondering if using Cotton Root Bark during her heats actually aborts the "perspective" gon in the first breeding so that the second one rolls and has no chance of a Gon? Basically I need to know from other experience gon breeders if you use CRB and why? If you want to analyze what I did for each heat, the records are here. Maybe you can catch something I am doing wrong. First Heat: 2.18.24 Items Used: 20 Yoh barks + Buffy Scrot + GMO cow. 4 cubs born: 2 AMP + 1 bobbed Second Heat: 2.19.24 Items Used: 20 Yoh barks + CRB + Buffy Scrot + GMO cow. 3 cubs born: 3 AMP Third Heat: 2.24.24 Items Used: 18 Yoh Barks + CRB + Buffy Scrot + Lion Meat. 4 cubs born: 1 AMP + 1 Foldie If you breed gons (excluding first gens), can you please share your success stories and what items you try to use as often as possible? 0 players like this post! I breed leopons rather than tigons, but the mechanics are exactly the same. For what it's worth, I never ever use CRBs on them, and to the best of my knowledge the vast majority of other hybrid breeders don't either. Because all it does is risk aborting successful hybrid cub(s), plus waste multiple days of their valuable breeding time. Meaning either you can't fit in as many breedings before they hit 14, or you waste more yohimbes if you're using those to avoid waiting the 3 days after CRBing. There's really no advantage to CRBs on hybrids until you're desperate to try getting a first gen hybrid specifically from an existing hybrid, and realistically the odds of that are minuscule. Even if the CRB is successful you're most likely only going to get a low-value AMP or achromia or whatever from it, and you may well have lost a hybrid cub (or multiple) in the first litter without even knowing it. Even if you do get a hybrid in the second litter, you'll never know what you missed out on with the first, and you're 3 days worse off for no benefit. I would always advise just breeding hybrids normally - without risking losing hybrid cubs unnecessarily each time - and keeping CRB usage to literally any other lionesses instead :) 0 players like this post! theres really no way on increasing the %, your best bet is having the largest litters possible by using buffies or grains of paradise, i have had some insane luck recently and ive had 3 gons in the last 3 days, all i use is buffies or sometimes salts for passing eye color/skin. i wouldn't recommend CRBs because yes, you technically could wipe a hybrid from the first litter, and to me the tiny mutie boost isn't worth it as you rarely get much from them, especially since it doesn't increase your chances for a gon, just random muties. i wish you the best of luck with your gon! praying she passes soon for you :) 0 players like this post! Well poop that is exactly what I was afraid of! Thank you so much for explaining the process to me. Hopefully I can scrounge up a couple more barks to try one last heat with her this month but I will restrict from using CRB's from now on! I really appreciate all of the experienced insight on this issue. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 24/02/24 @ 07:21:39 by Rin Spiritwolf (#20915) |

You're very welcome, I hope you have better luck! Like Splash mentioned, I also just use buffalo scrotum (and opal saltlick/rock salt to pass eyes and skin when useful) each time. I'd say most times that 5% per cub chance works out to producing 1 or 2 hybrid cubs per lifetime with mine. But it's only an average, so gotta keep your fingers crossed <3 0 players like this post! If you don't mind me asking, on average how many litters do you usually get from each pon? 0 players like this post! Like? |

unless your planning something and need a second gon, i would say dont stress about barking! shes only 4 and has plenty of time left to pass for ya :) i recommend focusing on grabbing some buffies for her! 0 players like this post! Like? |

That is true, she does have some time left. I appreciate you guys! This is my first time trying to breed a gon and I am learning how frustrating the process is lol ~<3 0 players like this post! Like? |

also for your question about litters, you can get 8 out of any lion if you zebra heart them at 2 years, breed them every first day of their heats and ibf each litter! so 8 litters in total, with 3-4 cubs each litter if you use buffies :D 0 players like this post! Like? |

Yep, seconding everything Splash said above :) 8 litters with zebra heart for the first and then IBFs is my norm too 0 players like this post! Like? |
