I support editing the name, but I don't support changing the contents of a trade if there are already offers on it. If there are no offers made yet, believe it could be ok.

no support due to it:

1: it would open up ways to scam people offering, for example: you offered on a high worth trade, you go off-line and can't see the trade maker edit the trade so as to lower the trade value

( ie: changing a high worth item to a low worth one) and then they accept your offer, you've now lost your high value items and you get useless/worthless ones back

2: being unnecessary,you can always just delete the trade and re-make it, it's not even that hard

Ill be honest, the reason I don't support this because it makes it FAR too easy to scam others with. Not saying people will but imagine you made an offer on 20 Balls, you put your low gen clean pon and then go offline for the night.
The person who MADE the trade comes online, see's your offer and edits it so it only had a bit of junk in it. Then they accept your offer. You've lost your pon and gained a bit of driftwood.

The mods can't do anything because they don't deal with trades once concluded. They wouldn't change that because with thousands of users each day, their work would never end.

If they did it so that EVERY offer would be frozen until the user who made it re-enabled it on the new trade then maybe..? but at that point it's the same as watching a trade from the user.


I could see something like this maybe working, but it would need a lot of work to implement it, and in all truthfulness from a coding point of view, I'm not sure it's possible as the risk of scamming other folks or calling foul for accidentally accepting an offer.

Sorry my english isn't very good but I hope the explanation got across. It might be worth maybe putting heads together with some folks and coming up with a plan to work around possibly?

Ah! I just saw your edit! :D It would still possibly be a bit buggy but if you did it where you could edit the name UNTIL there was an offer, that'd be more possible! ( My brains too tired to explain the whole thing but I've seen ( and implemented) similar work on other places. Basically after offers were made the thing couldn't be adjusted because there was a possibility of offers just vanishing off because yay bugs! But until then you could adjust the name/prices as you wanted.

I wholeheartedly agree with this.
I think that trade names and trade buyout should be allowed to be changed, it would be very helpful if say you want to lower the price of a trade without cancelling it. However, I don't think trade contents should be allowed to be changed due to the risk of scamming. When trade listings are updated, they should send out a notif much like they do when bought out or cancelled.
This would bring huge QOL to the trading center.
