Are you frustrated with the constant scrambling to get enough nesting material for your lionesses? You have an overflow of food constantly expiring? Look no further! With this game feature keeping your newborn cubs safe is easier than ever!

I propose the feature of separated fur/skins from the prey we hunt.

Like creating rawhide or tearing carcasses into chunks this is simply making the carcass into something different!

How is works:

Clicking on an eligible carcasses you’ll have the option to skin the animal

Doing so will take 15% of your kings energy, however in return you will get

A # of meat chunks depending on which carcass is used
A new item “Carcass Pelt” with uses between 3-6 for nesting

Clarifications

I believe to make this where it doesn’t completely break the game the energy loss is necessary. Maybe 10% would be fine, or maybe it would need to be higher, I’d love feedback on this

Only certain carcasses would be eligible for this feature. It wouldn’t make much sense for alligators, elephants, or hippos to be used for nesting

Closing
This is an idea in its infancy so I will likely continue adding things to this post as I think about it, and I would love feedback/criticism! If you vote “No” I would love a reason, even if it’s in a private dm!

While this is for crafting nesting material, I'd also be curious to see it be used for decor crafting too. Like cheetah skins currently can be crafted into an adorable decor. But I'm just a hoarder, I love decor lol.

Support! Its a great idea, and a killing two birbs with one stone thing as well! <3
I think 10-15% Energy is totally fair (and if its undecided it could also work the way Fermented Marula does maybe (lose ANY energy percent from 10-15%))
Also a craftable would be really interesting as well!

If you vote “No” I would really appreciate the criticism! I’d like to either problem solve what I can, or if it’s just a bad/problematic idea overall I’d rather not spend the time trying to promote it

It’d be cool if it worked like white lion pelts where if you collect enough of one type you could craft a skin decor

I think that's quite a bit of energy loss. I would prefer maybe 5-10%? However I love this idea. It could possibly work like the Shredding feature on Wolvden? And yes, it should definitely be limited to furry animals, and maybe 3-4+ use ones because it wouldn't make much sense to spend energy to skin a rat or something.

Support! I also think 15% is a little high, if the carcass has a good chance to only yield a partial nest. Because then there's a chance you're spending a full energy bar to get 18 uses minimum, and 36 uses max. That's only 6 nests, max.10% I think would be more appropriate because then you can get 30 uses minimum (5 nests) to 60 uses max (10 nests), per energy bar. Still costly for those who have big prides, but doesn't change much for smaller ones, except maybe they'll have more amusement available since they might use this feature more than feathers.
