In my experience, the more annoying recipes are the most worth crafting. For example, I started breeding golden beetles to make the Gold Beetle Chitin jewelry and I made 18 GB selling the full set. People usually ignore beetles, so they'll pay more for items with them in the recipe so they won't have to deal with raising them.

Any recipe with event-exclusive items in it [ex; the July items in Interstellar markings, locust wings, gems] is also worth crafting. They usually go for a lot of GB, but you should always check branches/TC before going all in on crafting them.
