I know this happens every year but I feel this quest has very little direction given and it's kind of confusing until you figure it out by experimenting.
I would appreciate it if a line or two could be added about getting close to the fluffballs and leaving the leaves behind rather than just saying to spread the leaves. At least something that hints toward wearing the mask in explore to finish the quest. or hint that you can occasionally leave it at dens.
As it is you can't tell really tell what you need to do and it's kind of frustrating.
