I'm actually not sure which Game Development subforum to post this on LOL

Marble Berries, as well as its crafted item, Marble Mush, kind of suck. In their current state, they are heavily flawed. The crafting recipe requires SO MANY of them while also being extremely difficult to get as tournament trophies for the vast majority of players, and their actual effect is too mediocre to be worth crafting it.

I mean, come on - Marble Mush gives you a 10% energy boost, making it essentially equivalent to 1/10 of the Oasis Energy Boost which costs 2 GB. In theory it's worth 200 SB, if we use a 1000 SB = 1 GB ratio. But after a quick look on branches, Marble Berries are listed at 120-150 SB each - for a full set of 40 required to craft Marble Mush, that would cost like 5000 SB, or 5-6 GB, if the berries are all purchased at their current lowest price.

Here are the loser and winner trophies according to the Wiki:

So, to get Marble Berries, you need to win a tournament fight, and then you may get any one of the winner trophies within that pool. More often than not, on the rare occasions that my lion wins a fight, I get some other item like small tortoise lol.

I have a couple ideas to improve it in some way or another:

> Decrease the number of Marble Berries required to craft from 40 to 10(?)
OR
> Increase the amount of energy it gives from 10% to 100%

> Have more winner trophies rewarded in tournaments.
---- 50% chance of winning a trophy in round 1
---- 100% chance of winning a trophy in round 2, 50% chance of winning a second trophy
---- 100% chance of winning two trophies in round 3, 50% chance of winning a third trophy
OR
---- 50% chance of winning a trophy in round 1
---- 75% chance of winning a trophy in round 2, 25% chance of winning a second trophy
---- 100% chance of winning a trophy in round 3, 50% chance of winning two trophies in round 3, 25% chance of winning a third trophy

> Add Marble Berries to the loser trophy pool as well.

> Also add loser rewards to ALL tournament rounds

The numbers I chose aren't set in stone, they can be decided by the devs of course!

I always get so annoyed when I get marble berries LMAO. I genuinely don't get why it was decided that 40 marble berries is worth 10% energy. Support

Absolutely - the way it is now, Im just hoarding those berries in case they get used in another crafting recipe later. It makes absolutely no sense to craft huge 40 of them to an item giving miserable 10% energy - too many too rare for too little energy.

I think their logic was "because you can use however many of these you want and there's no limit, we should make the number required to craft very high and only give a small boost". But I don't think they took into consideration exactly how difficult (and not worthwhile) it is to get 40 of these for a boost that'll probably receive 4 dud "nothing" steps in explore.

Full support. I believe they should drop it to 25 required to craft and give us the full 100% boost.

My Reasoning:
If this change is put into place, players will likely immediately buy up ALL of the cheap ones on the market immediately, raising the cost of the berries currently available to (ballparking here) likely around 800 SB to 1k SB per. So the problem of over-saturation will go away within likely a few weeks, and nobody will have to worry about this item being too common.

Plus, it's a single use consumable that'll be in demand year-round for currency farming and NCL hunting, so we won't need to worry about it losing value.

It'll make it more achievable (and more worthwhile) and turn it into an actual beneficial reward to get from the winner pool.
