The Monarchy

It was the start of a new dawn, the sun resting behind the mountains. The surrounding mountains were vibrant in color. The beautiful gray rocks and the unmelted snow on the peaks. The Great Rock was beautiful, higher than any rock. Any lion could see the whole valley from It. The Great Rock was only for the monarchy and royalty. I was royalty but not part of the monarchy. My family was the start of a new pride and the start of laws. Nowadays no one cares about the monarchy, they just follow the laws and hope that one day, their legacy will move on. It has been a hectic season this year. I had never seen a dry season so barbaric before. The water holes were the first to evaporate, then the Great River. The Great River had never dried up this fast before. The heat was like never I've ever seen before. My pride was suffering, every pride was. The beautiful wetlands now turned into a cracking Earth. The land was suffering too, plants were dead and hyenas were more active than before. I couldn't bare to watch my pride suffer. I have to take matters into my own hands.
