Thinking of doing commissions, can someone help me price out my art? Examples 3 players like this post! Like? Edited on 18/06/24 @ 02:53:41 by ౨ৎ🌷Blondie| Wine RLC (#372196) |

Start with paying yourself a decent wage per hour for however long it takes you to get a certain type of piece complete (like, how long does it take you to complete a sketched fullbody, how long does it take you to complete a shaded headshot, etc?), average it out and then add a a little more for your skills! But, I've seen high quality art like yours have pricing like $20/$25 USD per flatcolor/shaded headshot, and such like that <3 1 player likes this post! Like? |

As someone who also struggles with pricing, i'd say find the IRL amount then charge that in GB. 1 GB = 2 USD. you have a cute storybook style that is so soft and lovely. i'd say look around in the art thread to see other artists prices. perhaps someone has a similar style to yours :) from there you can decide if you want to raise or lower the prices, but don't undersell yourself! I price my sketches at $10 USD and my illustrations at $40 (backgrounds are added prices.) I am actually low balling myself a bit since i have a degree in illustration, but because my name isn't well known I have them slightly lower than normal. BUT! i do state tips are welcomed ^w^ that way people know they can give more if they so choose. :D but look around and see what others have, finding an IRL currency will help find in game pricing. all the best! <3 1 player likes this post! I agree with what @Nobody (#470651) said above! Definitely look around at what others are pricing their art on here, maybe even PM few artists for suggestions, the worst they can say is no, right? I also have a tough time pricing my art (digital and traditional), so I stopped taking commissions for a bit, but maybe I should get back into it Also ask yourself if you'd be taking in-game items equivalent to the GB price you're charging for your art, that way you can also receive items you would've normally bought and it opens the door for others to commission you as well. That's just coming from someone who hoards apps and decor and in turn rarely has GB/SB, but I've got OCs that need art lmaooo (Seriously, lemme know once you set up an art thread with prices/accepted items/etc, I love your style and need art of a few of my OCs, maybe even a couples pic of mines and my fiancé's OCs ) Art trades are also good for building skills and practicing! I can draw kangaroos now because of an art trade. Took me FOREVER to get the proportions and shapes/sizes correct, but I got it now! 1 player likes this post! Like? |

thank you both! I definitely would take items I am a hoarder myself and understand not ever buying/selling them lmao I usually use them on mutated lions in my den Im so glad you guys enjoy my artwork, If I do start commissions I will take things slow, if i forget to notice you about the opening just view through my created forums and you might find something! I really want to use Khepri beetles as a way of currency like I did for my YCHs with heartshells so I reckon I might start soon 1 player likes this post! Like?
