No! It's a visual mutation that can be seen on all ages. It comes from the May event during which you can complete a side quest to guarantee that a dorsal fur mutation is born. Both male and female dorsal furs can pass their mutation, albeit very rarely--from personal experience and the experiences of others, it seems to be rarer than piebalds and primals. 0 players like this post!
