I intended this to just be a short biography for one of the first chased NCLs I claimed but that quickly got out of hand. It is still a WIP but I wanted to share what I have so far ----------- The day Plumeria met Sabi wasn't a picturesque day, but rather one that could have ended in tragedy. As a strong willed, often rebellious young lioness, Plumeria wasn't keen on following orders from the older females of her pride. Her behavior landed her in trouble more times than she could count on her paws, and the day Sami found her was no different. The dry season had been unnaturally hot with the sun beating down on the savannah and drying out the land. Natural bodies of water have been drying out and driving away what little prey that had survived the heat. As the population of prey moved and dwindled, the predators became desperate and traveled farther away from their main territories. Plumeria's birth pride was one of the prides that resorted to long haul hunting trips. Her birth pride was a decently sized one of nearly 24 members. The main hunting group, made up of her and seven other lionesses, acted as the sole source of food for their family. The entire pride depended on their hunting party to provide the life sustaining prey for all members, which was a lot of weight on the hunting party's shoulders. With sparce prey and the looming threat of starvation, the lead huntresses split the party into two even groups to cover more ground. Despite the odds being against them, this hunting excursion seemed to be going well. The lead huntress in the sub-party Plumeria was a part of caught wind of an old gazelle that had been left behind. Upon the discovery of the elderly gazelle, the sub-party decided to rejoin the other half to increase the likelyhood of a successful hunt. Together, all eight lionesses corraled the gazelle into the remnants of an ancient plateau, eroded by the sands of time. The terrain there was treacherous but gave them the best chance at success. As one of the youngest in the hunting party at the time, Plumeria was eager to prove herself as a formidable huntress and believed that her time to shine would be on that very hunt. What she had not taken into account was the loose dirt and rocky landscape that was exacerbated by the dry season. Without thinking, the young lioness took a risk and pounced at the gazelle with her claws and teeth bared for the kill. 0 players like this post! Like? |
