MASSIVE THANKYOU to Ramune (#46341) for helping me out HEAVILY within this guide! Majority of this guide was straight from ramunes experiences
(and good luck to your Jaglion CRB frenzy!)
- What Is this Jaglion??? -
Jaglions are a hybrid that has been teased for years! And finally at the start of this year we had some transparency that they will be added! Over the past month there has been explore teasers and teasers in news and offisite. It is due next week!
- Things to keep in mind while trying for Jaglions -
First and foremost, the most important thing: enjoy yourself! If you are feeling stressed out about needing to 'get in' on the mutation but aren't having fun, sometimes taking a step back to take it more casually is a good idea. Remember, ANY breeding can result in a random mutation. While lionesses of lower fertilities have your best chance, it is not at all impossible for one to result from a good fertility without any items used. So have fun!
Additionally, remember: no one knows what will come to be with new mutations. The default is that if it is a random mutation (NOT applicable with a mutie on demand), it comes through breeding! So while you cant guarantee, you can test your luck with grabbing very low fert lionesses, GMO Cows, cotton root barks (CRBs), there is no guarantee there will be a hype breeding boost like Tigons had. (See below for information on the boost!)
RNG can be cruel. RNG refers to the randomizing of numbers. Basically, it's like pulling names out of a hat. If there are 1,000 other names in a hat, it's not so likely you will pull it out. The percentage of a first gen being bred is unknown. The only time we have known numbers for something like this was the Tigon Hype Breeding boost from the Tigon Hype event when they first released. The boosted chance was 1/150, or 0.6%. That is not terrible odds, but it does not stack! You could have gotten 500 of these boosts and never have bred a first generation Tigon. So first and foremost, prepare yourself that it simply may not happen in the timeframe you want. This does not mean you have to, or should, give up! This does however mean you can get a lot of fails before you get what you want. Have fun with trying!
Another Important point is to not let jealousy get in the way, did that newbie just get one before me??? Possibly but remember RNG IS RANDOM. No the game doesn’t hate you, no the game doesn’t love the newbies. It’s PURE luck.
- Okay, Well how do we get the best odds? / what items do I use? -
Outside of the possibility of a breeding boost, there's many things you can do to be prepared!
Heres a picture to keep in mind while you read below
Very low fertility
The lower the fert, the better! Hyena meat is a very quick way to bring your lioness down naturally to 1% fertility. If you go this route, be prepared to use lots of energy. Low fertility lioness naturally have a SMALL chance to pass down Random mutations. While the chance IS TINY, stacking with things such as lion meat and CRBs you can higher that chance! It is definitely suggested to have some black stallions or angelic blessings on hand for these girls. Chasteberry and vuka Vuka will INCREASE the fert. So no good in this situation!
Cotton Root Barks
If you've ever been to the oasis, you've probably seen cotton root barks. This will cause the lioness to miscarry her litter and make mutations more likely on the resulting one. She will go back into heat in THREE days. **These DO NOT stack. Do not use one on a lioness that is already under its effects!** You risk losing a good mutation this way. They can be stacked with lion meats or GMO cows. The news posts for September are a great place to see information about stacking these. Be sure to keep in mind, if using lion meat/ gmo etc with CRBs that you breed the lioness, use the crb FIRST and miscarry the litter, THEN you use any other items. Make sure it’s AFTER the crb has been applied otherwise the effects will be lost.
Lion Meats
This item has a decent chance at giving a mutation. As seen in the image (above) they CAN be stacked with cotton root barks! That sweet old lioness who wants to make sure NCLs are finding homes? Sometimes she will give you a lion meat! The 50 lioness claiming quest! (Found every 2 days in explore. Needs to be ‘accepted’ to start the quest.) you know, this lovely girl below!
Candid personality is highly recommended for this as you regain 3% energy per successful NCL claim. Even using hyena butter for best exploring, you can easily gain over 30% energy per day, which is the boost hyperactive personality will give you.
GMO Cows
This item has a singular event home in September. They are pricey because the chance of mutation is rather high. However, if you're sitting on one in your hoard, a new mutation being released is a great time to use it. It is highly recommended, but NOT necessary, to use with a Grain of Paradise (GOP) or Buffalo Scrotum. (Buffy) This way you're guaranteeing at least 2 or 3 cubs. This CAN be stacked with cotton root barks, also mentioned in the image and news post above. but this CANNOT be used with lion meat, as both take up the same slot.
This mutation roll order only applies to when a parent who is able to PASS DOWN the mutation (Tigon to Tigon, Dorsal Fur to Dorsal Fur, etc). When using these items, keep the mutation roll order in mind. It does NOT matter which lionesses you're trying to achieve a first gen from. Most people tend to use newly claimed lionesses as they have no heritage, so if there is another rare mutation born (such as double uterus or dwarf), it will be the lowest possible heritage. However, mutations can potentially put a damper on your breeding items!
Piebalds and Patches do roll first before all mutation breeding items. As a first generation hybrid is a RANDOM MUTATION and is the result of: GMO Cow/Lion Meat, Cotton Root Bark, or fertility's natural chance at a mutation, this rolls after piebalds and patches. This does NOT mean you will "lose" a first generation. This just means a piebald cub may result and OVERTAKE the *chance* to be a first generation. Does this mean to never use them? No! Piebald/Patches are not a guaranteed pass and certainly users have had first generations born when a piebald or patch stud was used. However, some users prefer to not risk anything rolling before these items, especially as some can be expensive, and therefore try to avoid using piebalds/patches on either the stud or lioness.
IF there is a Jaglion breeding boost, there would be information about it in the news post. It would likely explain where this belongs in the mutation roll order. If it works similarly to the Tigon Hype breeding boost, it was recommended to NOT use it on a lioness who is under the effects of Lion Meat, GMO Cow, or CRB as even though the first generation would roll first, you could lose other potential good mutations from those items' activation if it happened.
- How in the world do I get enough energy to keep up? -
Okay, how in the WORLD can I keep up with all this energy needed? For breeding lioness and exploring?
Gorilla Enclave
Don't forget to do your daily gorilla enclave quest for energy! There's loads of fodder always available on the TC. If a quest is too tough, make sure you've got skulls to sell if SB is scarce so you can switch quest. Hard difficulty is highly recommended. You get 7 nifty monkey teeth and get 60% energy!
Here’s a small guide on getting your cub exactly.
- get quest
- go to tc and in requirements put the sex of your cub
- in age put no older than 1 year
- in stats down the bottom put in the stats your cub needs
- if any markings/base etc put that in through its section.
- look for cub, if no cub then redo quest.
Lioness Quest
As mentioned above, that sweet sweet lioness quest can also give you a chance at a 100% energy boost! So be sure when you're turning it in, you're out of energy and aren't 100% impression, just in case. This can be taken every other day! So once you complete it, the next day it cannot show up, but the second day after that you have a chance at encountering her again and accepting the quest.
Bone marrow
Sweet, sweet bone marrow. Don't forget to get your 20% energy per day by chomping on one of these. Can be found in monkey business for the cheap price of 80 only one can be used per day.
Fermented marula fruit
A great item that's found in multiple events. **Use it at 0% energy** because it can take away your energy! It can give you 1%-10% energy or take away 1%-10% energy. It's a bit of a gamble, but in a pinch, it may be just what you need.
Coffee beans
Absolutely great if there IS an explore based breeding boost. It guarantees each step will take 1%-2% energy instead of 1%-3% energy. It adds up saved energy quite fast. That being said, still take your time - you wouldn't want to skip the encounter! - these beans can only be gained through the treasure hunt event where we first got a look jan 2024! It may come back soon so keep a look out! these do NOT stack
Hyperactive and Candid personalities
Hyperactive personality gives you a nice guaranteed 30% energy boost per rollover, so long as your king is below 70% energy used. Candid personality guarantees 3% energy back for every successful lioness claim.
(Personality can be changed with personality snake in oasis! Personality comes from the sangoma mask 400 )
Hyena butter
Even with candid personality, you can still get good energy back. If there IS an explore boost, you want to cut down on extra encounters as much as possible. Keep the lionesses away with this to up your chances to finding a boost! (Hyena butter keeps the lioness flaming encounters to a minimum)
Roasted Lambs/Red Bulls
Please keep in mind you should use these at the top of every hour. If you use a red bull at 08:59, it will become 7 hours instead of 8 right at 09:00. That's a whole wasted hour of time! Your main lion CANNOT be hungry. Feed your lion to make sure they're at or below 59% hunger. If they're too hungry, they can't regenerate energy properly and the item will not be as useful. This will regenerate 20% energy for you every 15 minutes instead of 10%. If you've got a few solid hours to play, this is a great way to get lots of lionesses bred and lots of exploring done.
- Guys? What If I’m BROKE? -
First of all, playing serengeti shuffle every day is a great help! If you score at least 3500 points, you may get a prize that sells for at least 1 to 2 gold beetles when you submit your score. Circling back to the original point, this should be a fun experience for you. People have gotten first generation hybrids on accident while just mass breeding lionesses of all fertilities. If you're exploring and have at least a couple territory spaces free, grab a few low fertility or very low fertility lionesses and breed them. Save those feathers you get from explore for nesting materials. It may not be as *fast* as other players may be trying to get one, but anything can happen.
Sell skulls, crafting materials on your branch, food from hunting/exploring, and just scrounge up every silver beetle you can. It is possible to do this with little to no cost and still get there eventually! Just keep trying and enjoy the process.
- Okay so what can I actually do everyday? The game plan? -
Disclaimer: Any points regarding a breeding boost are on the GUESS there MAY be a hype breeding boost like there was for Tigons. There is no guarantee or confirmation there will be one at all! For now, we just know there will be an ADVENTURE involving them. There could be a boost from the adventure, or explore, or not at all.
❗️First and foremost, remember to take it slow if there's an explore-based boost. You don't want to click past the encounter! It happens to the best of us.
❗️ When it's at the TOP of the hour and IF you'll have a few hours to play, use a red bull or roasted lamb. Make sure you're not getting above 80% energy so you can use every last bit of energy.
❗️If you have saved levels you aren't saving for another event, use those before you consider using energy boosts! It will save you 2 GB per level. Level up only at 0% energy. It will refill your bar!
❗️If you'll have a solid 15 minutes of focus, assuming there is an explore based breeding boost, coffee beans. This is only if you have them to spare! Explore quickly but carefully to try to pop that encounter.
❗️Nest everyone for the day as early as possible!.There is nothing worse than losing a litter from a CRBed lioness because you forgot to nest them. (Again, it happens to the best of us!) Set an alarm on your phone if you don't have enough nesting materials so you can be sure you have everyone nested before it gets too late.
❗️ Grab a hyena butter or two if you're planning to explore with one! Again, this is only really necessary if we get an explore based boost or need to find something in explore related to the adventure.
❗️Claim as you go! If you claim any lionesses with really high fertility you don't plan to keep or use mutation breeding items on, name them accordingly to chase/kill/nature reserve once their 1 hour cooldown is up. Breed VLFs/LFs whenever you have extra energy.
❗️ If you're using mutation breeding items, make sure everyone is labelled properly. It stinks to accidentally chase a lioness you've already CRBed. Additionally, if you're using lion meats or GMOs on top of cotton root barks, make sure you use the cotton root bark first.
❗️ Once your energy is well depleted, make sure to check in with the Gorilla Enclave and use your bone marrow. VLFs and LFs, even ones that aren't incredibly low in fertility, can take quite a few good attempts to breed. So energy will be a valuable resource during this time.
❗️ HYDRATE. Check your posture! Seriously, it's easy to get deep into the chaos of a new hybrid releasing. Just take a moment to breathe and relax after you've been at it for a while. Then you can go back to it hopefully feeling a bit more refreshed.
❗️ Need a special den for your CRBs/mutation item lionesses/VLFs? Make one! As you're exploring, you're bound to find large rocks, large leaves, and those sweet silver beetles you'll need to make one. Keeping them organized will be a good way to be sure you don't toss one out on accident.
❗️ Finally, point #1 all over again: ENJOY YOURSELF. As someone who has been a part of every hybrid release so far, I had the most fun seeing other people achieve their goals and preparing to commit to mine long-term. It's normal to feel disappointed, but sometimes good things take time. Prepare yourself for this journey to a Jaglion to take a while, and you'll only be pleasantly surprised if it doesn't!
- What Route will you take? How do i prepare for my specific route? -
CRBS
Oh so you chose hell? Well! I suggest you save up lion meats, GMO cows, energy boosts, sanity, CRBs, gb for ibfs (Though I don’t suggest you IBF. I know, curiosity gets the best of us.) and also LOTS of territory. If you wanna go all out and try get a jag while the price is high, then have territory ready to hold those crb girls. Also a massive note to add is DONT MUT CHECK . You CAN but it’s gonna be a huge money drain. It is a bit hard if you are trying to get crbs in and out, but if you have the time. Wait the extra 3 days and just let the cubs age themselves or hold onto them until you have the currency to amp check.
MASS BREEDING
Well, this is where you aren’t trying crbs or anything. I suggest you have LOTS of territory and Auto nesting (15gb.) without it you are just about stuck! Also to have lots of patience and energy boosts to both breed and find lioness! I also suggest you try aim for low fert girls for that extra chance.
EXPLORING
If it’s anything like the tigons there will be a chance in explore (ALTHOUGH I DOUBT IT) so get some energy boost items and get ready to hurt those fingers in clicking that button every explore. But try go slow with it so you don’t miss anything!
BUYING JAG HEATS/BUYING JAGS
Have LOTS of GB stored, and no I don’t mean 30 gb I mean LIKE 3000! These jags without a doubt are gonna go for CRAZY prices. I suggest that you wait it out till there’s more out there and the price dies down. But if you are determined on this route save up HEAPS of gb. And save up some yoh barks too! You wont find any heats available that are natural. There will only be barked heats for the first few months.
hope I just get lucky with doing nothing
Pray? I guess just sit back, relax and watch the chaos unfold as you sip on some tea.
- I could not care less for jags, I just want money? -
Well LUCKY for you! The whole site is gonna go bananas! But if you’d like to make currency this is a great time. Sell NCLS, sell in heat crbs, nesting mats, energy items, breeding items.
it is expected when the frenzy starts that these items will skyrocket in price because of the demand for them. Which is good if you are a seller.
Ooo ty for this! I really want a Jaglion, just to have, as I LOVE Jaguars.
And also probably sell a few heats ofc, I’m going to have to work to get a lot of GB for this (CRBs, lion meats, GMOs) but I’m excited!! And I always have tons of nesting material
ZURI😭😭
You are a life saviour. I was so anxious because of upcoming jaglions so i didn't know what to do. But your guide really brought peace to my soul
Honestly I'm going to see what happens then let my clan decide, if its randomly generated through breeding that would be good for me as I don't often do mass breeding but when I do I always get 1 or 2 muties
First generations have historically been random mutations (accessible through breeding) thankfully, and it makes sense it would continue to be so! (Exception being the around-Christmas raffle lioness every year, of course) Even if there were some sort of boost, like with Tigons, it would still be available to get through breeding, so I definitely recommend just mass breeding LFs/VLFs if you don't have a hoard of breeding items (LMs, CRBs) or simply don't want to spend the money on it. :3
I'm glad y'all like it! My years of CRB madness and meticulous planning for events have paid off.
Edit: I would like to also add, it would NOT be a bad idea to grab canopic jellyfish from the shops right now if you have extra currency! Going through so many mass breeds, you definitely run the chance of getting a lethal! They can use the regular Jellyfish item from Slots OR a canopic jellyfish once they have passed away to save/freeze them!
