Hi everyone! Lately I use studs quite often. And one thing just popped in my mind. While searching for stud, reverse breeding or if you just want to buy a lion there are so many features you could look for, like base colour, eyes colour ect. But adding one feature would be useful in my opinion which is "base type". For example you're feeling like buying a new lion. Doesn't matter what base group or rarity it has but you want only one with "breed only base". That's what it would be used for. All the base types like applicator, custom, breed only, combo and NCL would be there to choose. I think it would be really useful but let me know what You all think! 😺 Edit: To clarify what I mean. If there would be "base type" option and you choose only lions with "applicator" base it will shows only - for example - Arctic, Ice, Green, Nefer ect. For "breed only" you will get - Prismatic, Dawn, Leonid and so on. Then you can extra choose what base group you want, rarity... |

No support because it already is a thing? Its called Base Rarity. When searching, go to Base Rarity and choose Special and it will show you all Special bases, regardless of genetics. Choose Rare and it will show you +Rare bases as well. Common and Uncommon bases are ALL able to be applied, so none of them are breed-only. Rare is more common type of breed-only, can be bred with matching genetics but doesnt need specific parents; it cannot be applied, but its easier to breed than Special. Special is the most "breed-only" type of breed-only, can only be bred with a parent of that fitting base OR matching the combo criteria. 0 players like this post! Like? It's not a thing. You can choose rare and ofc you'll get all BO. But what if you want special breed only bases? You have to manually check all of them. You cannot currently just choose "special BO bases" or "only combo bases" or "special applicator bases". So I support. It would be very useful 7 players like this post! Like? |

I dont think that's actually possible to code right now because all of those only have one filter, Special, they are only different in player's eyes but not for the system? 2 players like this post! Like? |

Maybe it's not possible, maybe it is 🤷 I don't have enough knowledge to say. If it's not then it's not. But if it is I fully support. If it is not possible though - alternative idea (which I think is already proposed somewhere) would be to be able to SAVE SEARCH OPTIONS CHOSEN. Then we could have the thing proposed here. In a roundabout way but still 😁 5 players like this post! Like? |

You actually can easily save searches - search and Bookmark it! The long link in that bookmark will search the entered traits every time you click it, I used it to search for Maziwa+Mobola+Asali+Dhahabi when I was mass-breeding Currently, the system does not distinguish applicator Special or breed-only Special. Even on Wolvden, with a much more fleshed out genetics, there are still some bases BO and some applicator within same rarity. So Im not sure its possible currently - it might need a rework of entire genetics system to include a new searchable filter for bases. That's just too much work for easier searching - we never even got a simple generation filter like Wolvden has 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 23/06/24 @ 08:31:38 by Mad Hyena (#29080) |

this would be super helpful! i tend to look for combo based studs when studding out for my maneater breed only based lionesses, since they'll get a boosted chance of my maneater base passing. it gets pretty tiring trying to plug in certain combo bases from memory/wiki with a mane type i want, i would much rather just have an option for "Base Type" (a separate option from "Base Rarity") where you could select applicator (commons, uncommons, and some specials) vs breed only (celestial raffle, maneater, NCL exclusive, and raffle) vs combo bases. ideally, i'd like if we were able to simultaneously look up rarity and type at once, i.e. i could filter special + breed only to filter out rare studs since i don't really use them. this would also be helpful for breed only focused breeders in general, not just people wanting to look for combo bases i'm not sure if they'd really want to separate it further between BO groups, i feel like at that point you could just make a link for yourself to bookmark (but every player needing to select *every* BO base to bookmark to wouldn't really be realistic, hence wanting a built-in search feature). this would be nice in sales and search feature, i'm not quite sure why you wouldn't want to support this when it doesn't really alter the current search function but only adds to it p.s. i also would love for the applicator vs combo vs breed only search function for eyes as well, there are also a lot of eyes to sort through but that's less high priority to me lol p.s. someone made this search link for all combo based studs - feel free to use it until this feature gets added (hopefully) :D (theres 38 combo bases, imagine looking for all BO ) 10 players like this post! I feel we kinda already have that set up, it's not exactly the same but I don't think we need to add on to it. So no support. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Boxer base tier or rarity is not the same thing as base type. bases are categorized into breed-only, combo, and applicator (base type) as well as special, rare, uncommon, and common (base rarity/tier). respectfully, this would be a super useful tool for a lot of people and it's not taking away from anything you currently use. you could just choose to not use this filter and continue using exclusively base rarity/tier search just because you know what you're searching for, others may not. i oftentimes do not care what base it is as long as it is combo and/or BO special based and am searching primarily for eyes/mane/skin traits most of the time. i'm not suggesting this needs to be implemented 'urgently' but it would objectively be a nice thing to add in (possibly with the recode) for people that do find use in this searching filter. everyone needing to add in custom bookmarked links individually is so much work when it could just be added into the search function. please keep in mind there's easily 50+ breed-only bases and that list grows almost monthly. i'm aware we have a wiki, it does not detract from the fact that it is still a lot of work for everyone to cross-compare the wiki while making their own search bookmarks for things as broad as the entire collection of breed only bases. 2 players like this post! No support for the following reasons. I personally don't think we currently need this feature added on quite yet. It could be useful for some things but it also adds more on top of the other things needed. I already find it decently easy to find what I need whether I'm looking for combo bases or not. Mostly because if I'm looking for combo bases I search the specific ones I want. Same goes for if I need an applicator. It's not hard to find what your looking for if you search specifics. Not only that but we also have a functional wiki that shows some of the bases. Whether the wiki is updated fully right now, I'm not too sure (I'm sure it's not yet) but for the moment I think it's fine the way we have it. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@vertigoat I simply don't think we currently need the feature in general as when I'm searching for things I already know what I'm wanting, whether it's an app or like a breed-only. I understand it could be useful as I know several suggestions could be useful but I simply don't see the urgent need for such a thing at the moment. Thank you though for telling me. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@boxer If you already know what you want, thats good for you, but for many people they dont have a specific base in mind, or want to look at what options of studs there are in a specific base category, whether it be BO or app. Personally, this feature would be great for me and many other users, and while not an urgent need (as vertigoat already pointed out), it would be a nice feature to be implemented in the future. It is a quality of life update . Just because you dont necessarily find a use for this doesn't mean that other players don't, and I also feel that this feature (if implemented) could be very helpful for newbies or returning players. Besides, it is a pain to click the 20+ combo bases or 50+ bo specials when searching for a stud. 6 players like this post! Like? Edited on 07/08/24 @ 16:18:50 by grassman 🌱 | pearl (#243884) |

sometimes the exact base you want has no active studs / lions that fit your needs or criteria, so it would be nice to add a feature like this without having to select each base individually. support! 6 players like this post! Like? |
