Hi! I tried out siding with Anubis this year on my side account and he feels ... really bad to play with. For those that don't know, Anubis will do 20 damage in snake fights ... sometimes. Both Seth and Bast are consistent (having abilities that occur every round), so playing with Anubis feels really frusturating. My side king level 14. For this event, I've been exploring in the level 1 area. I still have difficulty with fighting the snakes, even though (apparently) my stats are significantly better than theirs. Many fights will go by where Anubis doesn't do anything at all, and I only have so many lucky feet haha. My suggestion: give Anubis an execute. If your attack would leave the snake with 20 or less HP, have Anubis attack for 20 damage and finish the snake off. This would remove the randomness - Anubis would be guarenteed to attack once per (won) fight. You still get big boom damage, but it's a lot less frusturating to work with. I use Seth on this account, and I've found he attacks around 6 or 7 times per fight (18-21 damage). So, I think this would be pretty balanced. Please let me know what you think! :] |

Buffing Anubis would be nice no doubt, I always side with Anubis & Seth for my two accounts. I'm not too sure how many stats your side king has but for my side (connected to Anubis), only has 344 stats @ age 15 years, I've been rolling for the past few days, haven't had many frustration with the snakes(?). I don't breed for stats for my side account kings, only my main. I'm not too sure the stats on the NPCs personally but I assume my side king's stats are lower than yours? Of course people have their individual ways of using the fighting order with battle orientated events that works for them. Just not too sure about it, as Bast(+5) and Seth(+3 for successful attacks) both just heal, healing is good but I can see how 20 alone is a good dmg to do for like a newer player but they might die before the execution, not too sure. I might be misunderstanding this lmk if I am, from what you're suggesting is adding execution to the all already current 20 dmg given? Or is it removing the 20dmg for the execution? I feel having both can be a bit of an overkill if they do add this. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Hua The random chance for Anubis to do 20 damage would be removed, and he would only attack if his damage would kill the opponent. Basically he does nothing until the enemy is below 20 HP. There is still some difficulty, but I would say it would be on par with the other two gods. I find Seth does around 20 damage per fight (spread out per turn), so if a player loses before Anubis does his execute, they likely would've lost with Seth as well. My side's stats are around the same as yours, but I've still had difficulty winning in the level 1 explore zone. It's super frusturating to barely lose an encounter when Anubis didn't do anything the entire fight. 0 players like this post! Like? |

I've mentioned the same idea on other posts in the past, though I never officially suggested it. Honestly, it seems fair to me, especially if Seth damage ends up being around that range as well. I always pick Seth and Bast every year since my first year picking Anubis was annoying as shit. I don't NEED Anubis to attack twice - it's of course very nice when it does happen, but he seems to prefer not attacking at all most of the time. So I'm just fighting the snakes by myself. Or I'll manage to get it to like 2 HP and Anubis will finally get off his ass and hit them with his attack. Like, thanks fucker, couldn't have done that earlier? That's even MORE frustrating! I'm not having much trouble with the snakes myself (with Seth mainly, Bast is harder) by using Charge > Rest when you take damage (otherwise Bite until you have) > Charge > Grab > Kick until dead. Occasionally I'll try strangling if both our HP is about the halfway mark, but if that fails I tend to use my lucky feet at the end of those. My lions stats are about the same as yours, and I explore in the Rocky Hill zone. The snakes seem to hit for similar amounts of damage anyway, and I'd rather get more exp for fighting em. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

I sided with Anubis because I liked the stuff offered and because the other two seemed like an obvious choice; I like siding with the underdog (pun intended.) But then realized he really didn't help me in battle, and now I see why the other two were very obvious better choices, I feel Anubis is only there for story purpose, not combat. I agree that if the opponent is at 20 HP or lower, Anubis comes in for the killing blow. Its not kill stealing, its teamwork. I signed on for that and didn't really get it. I kept with Anubis the whole time anyway because the story made him a sad puppy so my heartstrings were pulled but I would have enjoyed it more if he was consistent in combat. Next year though, as much as I love Anubis in general, I'll probably side with a different god. 0 players like this post! Like? |

@Nobody Exactly! I sided with him for the first time this year because I wanted his bases, and wow he's difficult to fight with. If I had known, I would've sided with him on my main instead (way higher stats) :')) 0 players like this post! Like? |
