My suggestion will be short but I think this is a needed feature. I often use opal saltlicks and rock salt and I sometimes make mistakes. For example, today i used rock salt on a lioness and i meant to use it on my heir. I would really like to wipe this effect without bothering anyone! I think some items like opal saltlicks should have an option to be cancelled, and even if the item wouldn't come back to my hoard, I'd be very happy with that! I think there could be a window of like 5 minutes after using the item to cancel it.
While cotton root bark would be probably very hard to code like this (and it wouldn't make sense if it worked like that), i think lion meat, gnaw rocks, salts or ochre powders really should be possible to cancel. You know, lioness can always or clean herself from the powder or something...
