I'm was glad this was added a while ago, it makes creating private trades much smoother! But it also adds a new meaningless box you have to tick every time you need to create a new public trade. If you are making mass trades, such as a ton of fodder trades, it gets really annoying!

My proposal is that trades are public by default, but under "Trade Type" there is a check box you can select for a private trade. If you are making a private trade, you already expect one extra step to specify who it's for. One checkbox wouldn't be much of an annoyance and people are unlikely to skip over it if it is grouped with the # field or if it is required for the # field to appear.
