First Idea- Prompt: Dark/Grunge Forest dweller



Goldenhoard is a lioness who leads her pride, residing in ancient ruins deep within the forest. Her bloodline, known as 'ancient blood,' grants her the ability to learn runes and wield magic. Though she cannot breed herself, she can use ancient magic to gift other females with pregnancy. The cubs born from this magic are given names in the ancient language until they are old enough to earn their own names. Some of these cubs inherit varying amounts of ancient blood. Very special ones may receive too much, resulting in mutations that could be fatal. If they survive, they may become immortal and immensely powerful.

Long ago, the evil forces of the world feared the ancient blood and sought to eradicate it, nearly succeeding. However, the ancient magic was wise and went into hiding. After a decade of passing through generations, the magic found a cub worthy of reviving the long-forgotten species. This cub, Goldenhoard, was destined to rediscover the old ruins, form a pride to help her reclaim them from the monsters that had taken over, and rebuild the ancient civilization.

Humans were embroiled in conflict until one catastrophic event—the detonation of a bomb—wiped out their race. But this story isn't about humans; it's about the animals that survived. The toxic fumes mutated them, enhancing their intelligence. They adopted the skills humans left behind and continued to evolve.

Goldenhoard, a young maneless male lion, struggled against hunger. With prey animals nearly extinct, survival meant being strong and smart enough to outcompete other apex predators. Driven by desperation, he ventured into human territories, discovering a deserted city. While exploring, a noise frightened him, but it was just an ordinary chicken. He captured it and found a whole group of unevolved chickens. Seizing the opportunity, Goldenhoard established a farm and made his home in the subways. This newfound food source made him powerful, attracting lions from all over who sought his bounty.

Goldenhoard, now cocky and fond of scaring others, was nothing like his former self. One day, as he snuck up on a new arrival to his city, he realized it wasn't a lion. The two-legged figure turned and, removing its gas mask, revealed itself as a human. Both screamed and stumbled away, equally shocked and unsure of the other's intentions.

Now, Goldenhoard faces a new challenge. He must not only maintain his city's stability but also decide how to deal with the emerging generation of humans. Will he choose war or peace?
