Breeding:
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; G1's can only breed with G1's, G2's with G2's, etc. So once your G1 king dies, you must cull all of your lionesses and start a new G2 pride from scratch, etc.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; All heirs MUST be fathered by the current king (as of starting the challenge. G2 king must be fathered by G1, G3 by G2, etc)
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Lionesses can be bred to only your king or studs of the same generation as your king/lioness. Then to integrate those cubs into the pride, they must be bred to your king when they are old enough.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Similar to Hard Mode: You can have some lions in your den that do not follow Arduous Code, but these lions MUST be labeled and CANNOT be integrated into your pride (bred to your king or be kinged)
General Gameplay:
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Clean/Dirty breeding doesn't matter. If you want to breed every single lion in your pride to your king, you are free to do so.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Start with a G1 king and only G1 females. Your king can simply be heritage replaced with a groupie or you can buy a reroll from Monkey Business for a harder challenge.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; You must send lionesses out hunting as much as possible to gain levels. Lionesses with a level less than 5 by the end of the first month of beginning Arduous must be culled (Killed/Nature Reserved/Chased. These actions must align with your king's personality. If neutral personality, flip a coin. Heads = Kill and Tails = Nature Reserve/Chase)
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Your heir HAS TO gain 100% training experience or else he must be abandoned and replaced. You can train him naturally via the cub training/patrolling or you can use items.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; No appearance or personality augmentations can be made to the your heirs. This includes mutation replacements/MODs. The ONLY exception to this is if your king breeds a mutated heir or a mutated cub (this is the only valid mutation replacement).
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; All non heir male offspring must be culled (Again, These actions must align with your king's personality. If neutral personality, flip a coin. Heads = Kill and Tails = Nature Reserve)
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Must engage in all battle encounters that pop up in explore.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; All explore encounters must be in line with your king's personality. If his personality is neutral, you can choose whatever path you would like.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; The only exemptions of the customization rule are Piety markings you can apply during the November event.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; If a lioness gains three or more scars from hunting, her fate must be rolled Heads = Lives and Tails = Dies)
Profit Earning
What everyone is probably here for- money Code Arduous makes it pretty easy to make a large profit (at least in my experience). Here are some tips to help you maximize the amount of GB you make in this game that Code Arduous makes so much easier:
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Put what king of stud your king is in your username. This helps to attract stud requests because a lot of people (like me lol) search for studs using usernames. Especially to search for generation, what kind of (n)rlc, bases, etc. EX: redtail [g1 ice 9BO nrlc] OR redtail [G1 1k Spotted NRLC] . I've noticed since I added those brief descriptions to my username I've had a TON more stud requests and it saves me advertisement time in chat.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Sell all skulls/bones/broken cameras/large carcasses to Monkey Business. This will help you rack up SB really quickly.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Convert all your SB > GB and the bury it. I know it's super tempting to keep it in your inventory and spend it. But burying your currency in a bundle can help prevent you from making impulse purchases. On the other hand, you can bury every 1,000 SB you get and save it for January to buy MODs. You could even raffle it off once you reach 5,000 (don't be afraid to cancel the raffle if you don't at least make your 5,000 back from said raffle)
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Auction off cubs. If you've already started Code Arduous you should have a G1 king and ton of G1 lionesses (NCLs or Chaseds, your choice). This means soon you'll start having cool G2 babies ; which can sell for quite a bit to the right person. Forum auctions can be great for high profit depending on the cubs. When people really want a lion they can be quite competitive, which often results in severe overpaying in bids. If your cubs don't get any auction bids don't fret- you can always sell them for 25-75 SB a piece as fodder. Groups of fodder cubs can be sold higher (300-700 SB) during July because of the Losing/Gaining karma quests as well as The Celestial Portal rewards.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Play the minigames. I know they can be tedious but you can get some seriously good rewards from games such as Whack-A-Snake (and Monkey too), Reptile Roundup, Liomemo, and Trivia. The decors can sell for several GB which can easily boost your status from broke > comfortable.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Kind of on the same status as the last one, but enter the daily SB raffle. It's only 10 SB for a chance to get 1,000.
𓏲๋࣭࣪˖🫧 ; Take snake/gorilla enclave/lioness claiming quests. REWARDS PEOPLE. I'M TELLING YOU.
Why/What is Arduous
Honestly, 'Arduous' is just a cooler/fancier word for difficult. A lot of people seemed interested in how I play "Hard Mode" and with the current Hard Mode clan being down I thought I'd share my version. I don't plan on making this a clan for the time being (mainly because I don't want to have to worry about keeping interest/funds). But if enough people were interested in backing, I'd consider it.
