He let out an amused shirt at her nervous rambling, seeming mostly unphased by it, not pausing his grooming. "It's alright Ansa, I slept fine. I'm used to sleeping by myself, but I didn't mind the company." He stated, truthfully he found he kind of enjoyed sleeping next to her. He didn't comment on the mention or him not having a pride, choosing to ignore that for now. "Are you ready to go to the water hole?" He asked her, ready for a drink after their night off slumber.

Glad to be stopped from her insistent rambling tendencies she nodded, “I was glad for the company as well. And yes I am.” She couldn’t wait to see it and get a drink. She just now realized how thirsty she actually was. So, like yesterday, she followed his lead there.

He nodded and began trotting away from the den, moving at a faster pace today to try and help himself in waking up. It was a short trek to the watering home, he stopped at the edge of the brush and waited for her to stop beside him. "You always need to be aware of your surroundings, never rush out of cover without scoping the area first. You need to look, listen, and smell to determine if it is safe. When you're alone, you have no one to rely on but yourself, if you get into trouble, no one is going to be there to save you. So first we look, I see a couple jackals drinking, but not much else. We listen." He paused listening in silence, he couldn't hear anything that sounded dangerous. "And then smell." He lifted his head and opened his mouth, breathing in the nearby scents, again, nothing or of the ordinary. "The biggest danger to us is other lions, humans, and hyenas. To me, it seems safe for us to leave the brush." He stated before slinking or of the brush and heading for the water.

Ansa followed his every move with her eyes. She made sure to retain any information he said. She followed his steps in looking, smelling, and listening. She knew being aware would come sort of naturally but she also knew she would have to work on it. She followed him out of the brush, now being on high alert and keeping low to the ground. She felt the same way she did yesterday in that stupid truck. She felt like fleeing at any sudden movements… as she approached the water she peered into it. Not seeing anything that could be harmful she took a few hesitant laps of water. Suddenly a small hog ran out and up to the water. Ansa stumbled back a few steps and accidentally bumped into Zephyr. “Sorry about that,” she quickly took several steps away, not wanting to invade his personal space too much.

He was surprised to be bumped into, coughing a bit as he choked on his water. He snorted, annoyed but only for a moment, realizing it wasn't intentional. He rolled his eyes and reached down, suddenly doing his paw into the and flinging it at her, splashing her playfully to ease the tension. "Consider that punishment for bumping into the king of this land." He teased with a smirk, shaking his paw off and letting out a small chuckle. "You don't need to be nervous, you're safe with me." He reassured her.

She giggled and tried to dodge the water, failing miserably. “Oh my, I am soooo sorry big mighty king. How dare a peasant like me bump into you.” She feigned being dramatic and some sort of hysterical before laughing at herself. “I know that, I just don’t think my mind really does just yet.” She lapped up some more water, her chin now being wet. “I’m glad you were the one who found me.”

He laughed along with her, finding her antics humorous. When she mentioned that she was glad he had found her, he couldn't help but smile softly as it was an ego boost. "I am too." He said, though he continued after a moment. "There are other lions that aren't as kind as I." He said, not wanting her to think he was getting all ooey gooey over her just yet. He leaned down and drank some more, the water helping wash any blood from the last night's feast away.

Ansa smiled at him, “Well I’m glad the universe sent me one of the nice ones.” After one last drink she walked back toward the brush and found a tree to lay under. She groomed herself carefully and meticulously. She would spend half the day grooming herself before out of boredom now she just wanted a simple groom so that’s what she did. She was done in no time and looked at Zephyr, “So what do you normally do now oh great king?”

"Well, I usually patrol my territory and make sure there aren't any rival males on my land. The rest of the time I just explore or relax. " He stated, sitting down next to her. "You're free now, out here you can do anything you so please." He began to from himself as well, licking his fur calmly now that they were once more hidden in the brush.

She makes a face of confusion and deep thought, “I’ve never had a choice before, I mean I didn’t even have a choice of who’s cubs I was going to have…” She thinks some more, “Maybe it'll be best for me to stay around the den and identify scents so that I can eventually learn how to hunt.” She rolled onto her back a stretched out. “Maybe go exploring a bit inside your territory?”

He thought about this for a moment before he finally nodded. "That should be fine, just make sure you don't leave my territory. The boarders are marked by my scent, so you should be able to tell. And make sure to avoid danger, hyenas and Buffalo especially." He said and stood, stretching a bit." It will take a while for me to patrol, but I think some time alone will be good for you. Just be safe." He stated, looking down at her where she laid. He gave her a small smile seeing how relaxed she was.

She gave a goofy grin up to him, “Of course, I’ll be careful and avoid any potential dangers.” She rolled onto her stomach and then got to her feet. “You just enjoy patrolling, if that even is fun,” she thought for a moment and then shook the thought away. She started walking back towards the den after saying goodbye to Zephyr and wishing him well. She made sure to keep her ears open and decided after a quick nap up in the den she would get to exploring.

He looked at where she had disappeared into the brush, watching her body vanish. He felt a sense of worry wash over him at leaving her to her own devices, but tried to shake it off. He padded away in the opposite direction, heading for the edge of his territory to walk the perimeter. He thought in silence, wondering what might be in store for Ansa once he trained her well enough to set out on her own. Part of him thought maybe she could stay here with him, but he shook his head with a quiet huff at the selfish thought. She deserved to have the safety and comfort of a pride. He walked the edge of his territory in silence, marking occasionally to affirm his borders. He also kept an eye out for any sign of invaders.
