“Well I’m glad I can bring that aspect of your life back then. I never got to play much in the facility, at least not with other lions.” She gave a sad smile at the recalling of her old life. She quickly shook herself free of the thoughts, “But now I have an amazing protector and king to watch over me and play with.” She cuddled closer to him.

He couldn't help but puff his chest or a bit at her words, filled with pride. He leaned into her though and licked her head to comfort her after noticing her sadness. "That place is long behind you, and as long as I live, I won't let the humans take you." He swore to her, vowing that he would protect her from captors or die trying.

She purred and nuzzled into his chest, basically curled around him. “Thank you Zephyr,” she knew his words to her were true and that meant all the world to her. She was feeling rather thirsty after their little game so she asked, “Do you think we could go down to the waterhole to get a drink?” She put her chin flat on Zephyrs chest to look up at him.

(Yeah, yesterday I had to take my sister to another Dr's appointment and since she lives an hour away from me but her Dr's office is where I live, it took like the whole day. 4 hours of driving just to go to a doctors appointment. And now I just got a call from my step mom asking if I would take her mom (who I've literally never even met) to a doctors appointment tomorrow. And get this...she lives an hour away as well....and her Dr's appointment...IS WHERE I LIVE. ANOTHER 4 HOURS OF JUST DRIVING. Sorry I'm ranting, but I'm genuinely so frustrated and need to tell someone 😅 People think that since I work from home that I just don't have anything to do and can drop everything to run errands for people. And they put me in these awkward situations, like what am I supposed to do? Say no? Anyway...so, I'll be busy tomorrow too I guess. 😓 )

(Oh geez that sucks! I’m so sorry you have to go through that. I don’t mind you ranting, I’m always here to listen if you need it! I definitely understand not feeling like you can’t say no. Don’t worry about being busy, like I said sometimes it just can’t be helped. My family has kinda always been the same about putting responsibilities on people who work from home (which I find stupid) just because someone works from home doesn’t mean they aren’t busy. Even though they are at home doing it they are still WORKING. 😑 You definitely are justified in being frustrated.)

(Yeah, it gets pretty exhausting, but oh well, it is what it is I guess XD Thanks for letting me rant and rave, I'm over it now thankfully but I'm definitely not looking forward to tomorrow that's for sure. 4 hours in a car with an old lady I've never met is going to be...awkward)

Zephyr nodded his head quickly, standing and stretching. "Of course." He purred down at her sweetly and once she was ready, he began to walk with her towards the watering hole. His limp was much better today thankfully, so he felt confident that if they were to get into trouble, he could protect her. He walked calmly, his tail draped over her back occasionally.

She liked the quiet walk to the waterhole. Even though it was silent it was the comfortable kind of silent. The feeling of Zephyrs tail draped over her was welcome. She gave him the occasional smile on their journey there. Once they reached the grass that surrounded the water she dropped down low and went to check if it was safe. She didn’t hear or see anything so she waited for Zephyr before going through.

He nodded in approval, pleased that she had taken to his lessons. Once they knew the coast was clear, he followed her along out of the brush, heading for the water. There were a couple zebras drinking opposite the water hole, but they didn't seem worried about the two lions, sensing they weren't a threat with there only being two. Zephyr leaned down and drank the cool, refreshing water, feeling energized by it.

Answ chuckled after getting a long drink of the water. She sat down with her paw in the water, she smirked at the unsuspecting Zephyr. She cups her paw and when Zephyr raised his head she splashed a bit of water at his mane and face. She rolled on her back with laughter at his stunned face.

"Hey!" He exclaimed, jerking his head back a bit but still he got wet. He laughed and shook his mane, scattering the drops of water before quickly swiping his paw at the water, sending a splash right back at her in retaliation as he laughed. "Got you!"

“Awh dang it!” She pouted but couldn’t help but laugh. The zebras gave the two weird looks and left the waterhole soon after. She rolled into Zephyrs leg in her fit of laughter. “I think being with you has healed something within me.” She smiled and used her paws to pad lightly at Zephyrs face with a bright smile on her lips.

He purred as he heard this and felt her paws on his face, looking down at her in adoration. "I think you've healed something in me too." He said gently, leaning his face into her paws softly and then giving one a small, loving lick. "We must be good for each other." He said with a small chuckle.

She licked his chin softly, and looked at him with admiration. “I think we must be…” She jumps up and puts two paws on his chest and leans down to give him a small lick on the tip of his nose before using him as a pillow and sprawling out, soaking in the sun.

He laughed at the lick and then snuggled into her in return, enjoying the warmth of the sun. He sighed in content, closing his eyes to relax with her. He purred softly and gently kneaded her side with one paw, thumping his tail and breathing deeply. (I'm not sure on any new, exciting ideas for this tbh XD )

(Ah! I can’t blame you lol, I think my writing juices have quit running xD)

She purrs and softly makes biscuits on the ground and pulls the grass up with it. Feeling content and happy in life she falls into a light nap. She dreams of big meadows and Zephyr and her running through them, catching each other with glee.
