Anyone else worried to use the new Korobela item, even after the devs changed it to where a chased lioness will reroll as another chased lioness? I've came across so many lions like the one below that are labeled as a "chased ncl" but they look no different than regular ones. I'm worried if I use this new item on an actual lioness I think is chased to get a better one, I'll end up with one of these instead. I feel like this has to be changed somehow, I'd feel so cheated.

pretty sure this is bc players chase many of the ncls they claim since it doesn't use up any energy

i know that but i feel like it’s unfair to include them in the chased genre if there’s no reason they’re actually sought after πŸ˜”

yeah, i get that. I think lioden should implement another option that isnt chasing lionesses off so that more 'chased' lionesses could be actually chased's

This is an issue I didn't think about
It's also an incredibly easy and inexpensive way to grief / troll all of the players using this item and should be handled ASAP

Any player could simply chase dozens upon dozens of lions claimed during the month to try and ensure that players waste these items.

I think it would be good to implement some sort of back end flag that filters out these lions when using the item. On WD, they are called "re-chased", and it's a problem over there because chased wolves are marked with a shooting star, even if they are re-chased "NBW" (the equivelent of NCLs").

It's not just new players, it's a player issue. And it's fairly infuriating. Supported.

I doubt many players chase regular NCL's to grief/troll, game simply incentivizes people to claim all lionesses they can (impressions = impression level/stats, the beloved lioness quest, claiming quests in events, possibility of CRB NCL)
It's foolish to not claim everything that comes your way

But nobody will keep that, and Nature reserve/killing costs energy if you don't have event personality on your king - therefore it's wasteful for players to do when each month has events with explore rewards.

I think it's intentional design to make appealing chased more rare rather than less - because it makes the pretty chaseds more rare and non NCL marked lions more valuable

Despite this, players could actively fight against it by getting event personalities that let you dispose of lions on no energy cost and advertise themselves as NCL sinks. And meanwhile raising more marked cubs to adulthood to chase

Well, my comment was less about what to do with these lions or why they exist, and more the impact that this "mark as chased" function has when coupled with the new "Korobela" item, which specifically allows you to re-roll to a different chased lion. Prior, there was no way to tell if it was a re-chased. Prior? No, definitely not much potential for griefing.

Not only can you now what's a chased tell, but there's an item whose use can be wasted on these.

Now I'm not saying "it definitely will happen all the time". I'm saying that the potential exists that players who *do* want to try and be a butt, now have a means by which they know that they can attempt to do so, by spamming catnip (dumb cheap, most have it in heaps), and claim a ton, then chase them all.

This is a pre-existing issue over on wolvden, where players are sick of chaseds cropping up as plain explore wolves. But over there, this item doesn't exist, which means it's more of an annoyance.

Here? It means that an item which has a pretty high crafting cost can be burnt on these dud lions.

Normally, if the item didn't exist, I'd say this is a moot issue. I just think that the item re-rolls need to filter out re-chased NCL default lions before this does become a problem - either just due to a naturally high number of duds in the system, or players who want to try and flood chased pools purposefully.

This has a potential to be an issue either way, better to fix it sooner/

I do agree the item of this nature does become kinda useless in this sort of environment. Of course the sceptic in me suspects that, like so many other items here that only give a slight chance of giving something semi-valuable for relatively high cost (think mutation items, slot machine game etc), that is an intentional game loop - to make people grind and engage with the game more, perhaps boost the market for the items it uses.

It's the only explaination I can see of introducing such craftable while allowing chasing to be the only option to get rid of a lion without a loss.
Catnip claiming was happening and will be happening because impressions. I myself throw in a catnip or two every time I get lioness quest. If it could be called griefing just because now it's visible, it is encouraged by the core game mechanics and self interest could be easily mistaken for malicious intent.

Now, I do think something as simple as filtering for lionesses called "Newly Claimed Lioness" and deleting them instead of making them part of the chased pool, would solve this problem, but I anticipate it would come with dramatically reducing chased odds if it'd be implemented.

Still, would make it more fair game for usage of this item in particular. I just worry that showering us with wanted rewards isn't something mechanics as intended often do

I'm tempted to buy the evil personality one.

Could be an idea to reduce the chances of re-chased NCLs being added to chased pool, to kinda balance it out.

This just means I need Yharnam to pop his double ebony heir faster so I can start chasing lionesses again /hj
