What is a remotely affordable breeding project that has a decent outcome? I’ve always wanted to do a breeding project of sorts but never have the funds for it. I’m indecisive as hell too so thought why not better let someone pick for me 0 players like this post! Like? |

"Breeding project" and "affordable" tend not to ... work... together. D: However, if you choose markings you like & would be happy with the cubs from even if the best cub possible remains elusive you're guaranteed to be pretty happy with your results! <3 Some ideas would be putting your multi rosette Main Lion(ess) to good use by pairing her with multiple rosette high BO marked Hybrids with some different-slot some-matching rosettes to make the most of Ochre Gnawrocks which are coming back next month? You could also include a BO mane color/type if looking to improve on your Main Lion(ess)' design? Or working on a high BO marking stack on the side in a different color palette, for a pride member to pair with your favorite outside studs or your own as desired? Clean, high BO, and multi-rosette with a cohesive design (so, like, a pop of color, or all smooth same toned) tend to do well sales wise, and be hard to reproduce through breeding (making players more likely to purchase a pretty lion(ess) they'd have to pay more than asking price to reasonably reproduce) so that's why i'm starting there. Hope you find something to keep you interested & good luck! <3 0 players like this post! Like? |

I thought of doing rosettes as I already have a decent bit of rosettes myself (including my king) but I calculated what all I’d need for getting strictly rosettes seemed to be more costly than if I were to try and breed hybrids I’m at a lose of what route to go. I genuinely do love rosette marks tho 0 players like this post! Like? |

Ahh I suggested (multi rosette multi BO marked) Hybrids? Like, pairing everything on a hybrid/DU to make for a tiered system of (worth it fails) + (super cool possible best cubs)? I find that I usually only want to use my Gnaws on my hybrid breedings or a favorite lioness (usually a fail from a hybrid breeding lmao)'s last heat or something if I really need those other traits to continue. I think you mean that rosettes alone are too costly to breed, more so than hybrids, so it's not achievable for you at all as adding hybrids on top of rosettes would be purely unaffordable? But if you're not feeling the vibe of rosettes at all anymore, the multi BO aspect is still totally doable on (something with a range of success that makes breeding at all worth it, like valuable muties)? You can get super cool cubs from normal lionesses as well, there's just a better range of potential successes from more high cost lionesses so it was an idea to combat the "a decent outcome" part. xD Happy to brainstorm lower cost sick projects as well, like if you're only wanting to make applicator lions- a skull-face pride for Halloween that incorporates the new shaded eyeliner mark on pure white or orange bases (for a mix of something BO & something not) or something? Hope you find something inspiring! 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 16/08/24 @ 11:23:03 by ⪘ SiRah (#159527) |
