I was wondering if you guys ever replace your cat's litter box or am I weird? So my cat has had the same litter box for the last 2-3 years and I am planning on getting a newer but smaller kitty litter box. I only have one cat but she has a bit litter box and I realize I tend to give her more litter then needed. Not just that but I realize I tend to like to buy her new litter box ever few years. Not just that but her current one is has a top and the latches are starting to break or I struggle to unlatch. I just wanted to know. Do you guys replace you litter boxes?  0 players like this post! we have a litter subscription box, a cardboard box comes every month with litter in it and it's easy to turn into a litter box its called kittypoo club 0 players like this post! Like? |

I wouldn't say there's anything at all wrong with it. I work at an animal shelter, and we normally replace the litter boxes every Tuesday! For some particularly sick cats, we give them a new box every single day. Of course that's a very different environment—we really try to keep things clean because sickness can spread so quickly. The boxes themselves though aren't brand-new. Probably a few years old and no need to be replaced. But we hose them off thoroughly outside and sanitize them in our industrial dishwasher lol. I don't replace the boxes for my own cats unless they break and become unusable or dangerous, but I really like to try to at least take them outside to hose them off and give them a good soapy scrubbing every once in awhile. 0 players like this post! Thank you both! I actually bought her a new litter box as the latches were starting to fall off but even after cleaning it, still had a bad smell and no where I could clean it. So I got a new one Next paycheck I plan on calling my vet to get her checked out as she not only using the litter box but also peeing other places and it got me worried. 0 players like this post!
