I know there’s been a dozen suggestions from people who are bothered by “normal” NCLs being “Chased” NCLs after the update with the Star. Personally, I don’t mind myself, I like seeing how many lions are actually chased even if I don’t want them.
But!
A thought that occurred to me is:
“What if only adult lionesses who have been in a Pride for 3 or more rollovers are added to the chase pool?”
Anyone claiming just for Impression, Quests, or searching for CRB NCLs will likely chase off the lionesses within a day or two. Lionesses raised from cubs to be chased as adults will most likely have been in a pride much more than 3 rollovers (unless they were freshly purchased, and then chased).

It would at least reduce the number of “Normal” NLCs in the pool without having to implement too complicated of a new system.

This suggestion has 3 supports and 13 NO supports.

No support from me.

I'll occasionally buy high marked adult lionesses specifically to chase. I wouldn't want to wait the 3 rollovers just so they could have a chance to show up as a chased.

This would also affect any that are in heat when purchased, bred, IBF'd, then chased when the cubs don't meet whatever a player is breeding for.

(I'm not sure what the freshly purchased then chased part means, if it would prevent this then this point is moot, I suppose.

Though, I could argue that it wouldn't really prevent generated-NCLs from ending up in the pool either since I've bought NCL bundles for the one chased they had in them and gotten rid of the rest. Either by killing or chasing, depending on my king's personality.)

Edit: Just to add; Specifically for the 3 ROs and mass-breeding. Lionesses give birth in 3 ROs so this wouldn't really prevent mass-bred generated-NCLs from being in the chased pool.

And if a player is CRBing the NCLs themselves without an IBF involved they would be in the pride for 6 days. 3 for the NCL to come back into heat after the CRB and 3 days for them to give birth (assuming they are bred on the first day of their next heat).

That’s true. I was mostly thinking about the ones who are claimed and then chased as soon as possible.

I wonder if it would be possible, instead, and still relatively simply, to prevent lionesses under a certain number of rollovers in existence from being included in the chase pool. Of course, that would also then mean a “Real” Chased that is rechased wouldn’t show up either…

That could work, with the exception for the non-generated chased ones, as you said.

I'm thinking any possible fix, if they plan on fixing it, would probably be a mix of multiple suggestions. This, a check for non-generated NCL traits, # of markings, etc. could work, but I'm not sure how complicated it would be to actually code something like that.

Agreed! I would ideally want to come up with an idea that’s only one or two checks.
If this, then yes.
If that, then no.

Maybe something more like: If freshly generated (never been an adolescent), and over X markings it goes into the chase pool. If it has always been an adult, and has fewer marks than X, it does not.
So low marking chased cubs that grew up would fit, weekly raffle lionesses would fit, many rechased chaseds would fit, grown groupies would fit.
But raffle lionesses from the July event would not… which is still an issue. (Unless there’s a caveat specifically for them/their bases as an always yes/no thing)

If it’s “Over 3 Marks” it would rule out I think pretty much any basic NCL - if not, at least most of them.

Though I’m mostly musing now…
