So currently, the deaf mutation is lethal and has an actually quite interesting feature with added flavor texts alongside it. With deaf being the only adult lasting mutation I was quite interested in it too.

However, much of the deaf's flavor text is quite...unlikeable for me. The way they are worded makes it quite abundantly clear that the pride views the lion as a burden and that they are useless and need to rely on others around them.

I feel like quite a few of these could be rewritten to have the same overall theme but exclude the offending language.

A few examples of these would be:

"Perhaps [NAME] being deaf isn't such a bad thing. While exploring, a colourful bird decided to appoint itself as your new best friend, and has taken to cawing and tweeting every few seconds.. Very, very loudly. You're envious that [NAME] is completely oblivious to the obnoxious feathery idiot."

Being rewritten as

"While exploring, a colourful bird decided to appoint itself as your new best friend, and has taken to cawing and tweeting every few seconds.. Very, very loudly. Thankfully, [NAME] has seen the situation you caught yourself in, and unbothered by the birds obnoxious noises, lures it away from you."

And

"You notice [NAME] delicately sniffing at flowers that are surrounding your den. They've decided to stick close to home today, unwilling to get in the way of any pride members. When they notice you're watching, they smile and greet you with an odd-sounding meow."

as

"You notice [NAME] delicately sniffing at flowers that are surrounding your den. When they notice you're watching, they smile and greet you with an odd-sounding meow while gesturing for you to join them."

These small changes make it seem less like the lion is a burden within the pride and more normal. While I don't think these texts are purposely meant to be offensive, I do think they come across as ableist and hurtful towards real people with this disability. I understand Lioden is a game all about reality and I have no problem with deaf being a lethal mutation, but I do find the language within it ignorant and think maybe it being reworded would be for the best.
