I deal more with hybrids but I've seen G4 du's go for like 150-200 so I think what you saw is overpriced and a G2 du (unbred) shouldn't be more than 500GB

Just wanted to add that G2 DU do not have a higher passrate than others, unlike hybrids, they're just the shortest lineage possible / first mutation in their line.

Pricing wise relating G3-4 lineage DU's current pricing to G2 prices (with no other traits or shared traits, thinking in price per heats left) is actually quite valid since other than novelty or the pride of starting your own line they're not inherently more valuable / higher passrate to justify extra price (again, except novelty & they're so cool/rare) unlike the 10% vs 5% passrate for hybrid. ^^ <3

Mottled Rosette on a G2 DU (random mutation + MR pass) will be exceedingly rare, but on a G3-4 rosettes would be more achievable.
It would require Gnaw to breed on reliably (just looking at G3+ here) so you'd likely be looking at an added cost of Gnaw+(normal Scrot+GreatTit(optional but recc'd)+Buffy) at minimum per litter (Guaranteeing no other traits) which may inform the sellers' pricing decisions.
