Northclan In the billowing highlands cocooned in a rounded horseshoe of mountains lives a clan by the name of Northclan, accustomed to the harsh gusts of wind that chill their bones during the long leafbare months. Open rocky terrain fading into an entrancing conifer forest, mysterious scolding pools of hovering water and warm but short summers filled with colours and glows. The looming cold covering their territory in a heavy blanket of snow, ushering with it scintillating lights that fill the dark season with warmth as families gather around to share memories of their loved ones.

Many seasons ago, Northclan territory was vacant of cats. Fauna had taken over the land and deforested the highlands. Sprouts were eaten from the ground, stunting the growth of saplings and other foliage.
The original Northclanners were not of wildcat descent, rather refugees that escaped a massive wildfire that spread across a smaller part of Montana and into Yellowstone national park. Rangers were able to stop it as it reached the mountain range, but the terrified cats were too afraid to scale down the mountain again when the threat of fire weighed heavy on their minds. It did not take long for them to find each other, one by one they came across new cats bourdened by the flames that took their homes from them. Together they formed a rogue group, lead by a she-cat named North. They lived in the mountains and learnt how to work alongside each other, becoming a group that focused on the mentality of family.
North was an intriguing cat. Soon after she was named the chief of the group, she was given cryptic dreams about a group of cats that called themselves Northclan. It was a vision of the future, a vision that would bring hope of rebuilding a life long lost to those who had come before them. Her acceptance allowed long lost ancestors to reach her, granting her nine lives and the title of Northstar. Taught by Starclan itself, the she-cat woke up and told her clan of her visions. Although hesitant at first, they all came to the common agreement that her dreams bode well for the future of their kin.
Northstar named the clan after herself, Northclan, a symbol that represented that the cold will overcome all fire, no matter it's form.
- Snowstar saga
Snowstar, the leader and father of Polarstar, was a distant descendant of Northstar herself. During his reign, many well-known warriors became symbols of the clan's progress in their territory. Snowstar and Dancingflurry the banes of predators. Crowcaw and Silversmoke the wise. Sootpath the gentle. Lavendersight and Quiplash the adventurous. Lynxstride and Reedlip the honourable, and finally Bravehawk the courageous. Together they protected and formed the clan into something never seen before, a bond not easily broken by many. In-truth, they were all so different from each other, but were all dependant on one another's attributes. Snowstar could not have been the leader he was had it not been for Crowcaw's perceptive eyes, or Lavendersight's knowledge of twolegs. And the clan could not function if there was not one like Sootpath, who cared for everyone no matter their origin. What would the clan really be without loyalty to the warrior code? and what would it do if it had no bravery. Many moons ago now, these cats were ordinary clanmates, but now they are remembered for their many contributions.
Snowstar was once Snowfur under the tyrannical leadership of his father, Icestar. Icestar kept the clan like puppets in his claws, forgetting their founder's pledge of family. In an attempt to bring the clan to it's former glory, Snowfur ralies up a revolution, his brother and friends at his side as he slowly chips away at his father's reputation. One after one, the clan moves to the young warrior's side and push Icestar out of the territory and down to the national park. In a fit of rage, Icestar shouts that he can not be killed because of his nine lives. Snowfur laughs at the comment and asks him if he's sure about his calculations, before pushing him into one of the geyser's and watching his father dissolve into nothing.
Snowfur is named Snowstar, and leads the clan into glory for the remaining part of his life until he dies alongside his mate, Dancingflurry as they fight wolves to protect a patrol of apprentices. They succumb to their injuries together in the medicine cat den, and forever watch over Northclan from the stars. They are the blue of the northern lights, and are believed to be the twinkle of the silverpelt.

After Snowstar's death, it was customary for his eldest son, Polarstar, to step into position of leader. A fair leader much like his father, but more on the physical side rather than intuitive. He appointed his brother in arms as his deputy, Sunshadow, and together they were the leafbare and greenleaf of Northclan. They balanced out the scales, kept the clan safe like their ancestors did before them.
Snowstar had a mate, Wildstrawberry. The she-cat was the light of the clan, and the warmth and kindness of Polarstar's life. When she and her young kits unfortunately died during a particularly hard outbreak of green-cough, the leader was never the same. A reverent tom that puts his clan above himself, however distant.
Polarstar remains dutiful alongside his medicine-cat, Bisonlashes, although a recent threat has shaken the ranks when Polarstar's deputy, Sunshadow was found inside the conifer forest with froth seeping from his maw and bloodshot eyes, newly dead. After an autopsy, Bisonlashes concludes that it was due to a rare poison harvested from daylilies by shredding up the petals and stuffing them into the belly of a mouse, normally chewed over due to the smaller size of the prey item. Daylilies more commonly grow by the great lake, a place rarely visited by many cats...
The clan now wonders who the culprit could be, as Polarstar seems more troubled than ever after losing his best friend and deputy.
Will the clan fall apart? or will they work together to overcome the mystery of the murders that become more frequent and more severe as time passes.
