-LOCKED - September Feedback | |
Posted on 2024-09-14 14:07:00
We've heard your feedback and we're sorry we dropped the ball here. * Ochre Powder, along with all Treasure Hunting special use items, will be included in all iterations of the event. * Each Treasure Hunting event will have themed decorations and backgrounds that will only appear in that version of the event (e.g. Drowned decorations will not appear in January, etc.). A note on the September event encounters: we have had reports that there are fewer encounters showing up this year, and fewer Jewel Beetles being given out. We have investigated multiple times throughout the start of the month and have yet to find any evidence in the code that there is anything blocking the occurrence of event encounters. We are continuing to look into these reports, but so far have not experienced the issue ourselves through multiple tests. It is important we clarify that Siren's Call was not introduced as an attempt to monetise a bug, as some have claimed, but that we wanted to offer some items to further customise the experience of explore by increasing the standard rates and decreasing rates of other encounters, such as beetle larvae. While we appreciate the feedback of our players - both long-term and newer - please remember that we are a small team of developers, and we are human. We try our best to listen to you, sometimes we miss the mark and we will try to correct it where we can. We definitely do not intend to ignore you. Mistakes will be made, and we are sorry for that. We would kindly ask that you try to temper any feedback you give - reading responses in ALL CAPS and with a scathing/spiteful tone can be disheartening at best. We generally are very open to making changes, but we need to keep a collaborative and constructive spirit. To provide an update on promised features: * Another mutation, the Primal variant based on the Ennedi Tiger, is on track to be released during Black Friday. * Mutation decor conversions were pushed back due to prioritising other things, but are still in the works, and we hope to release them in early 2025. * The Spirited pose is on track for a Winter 2024 release. * The recode is currently delayed due to server shenanigans earlier in the year that are still somewhat ongoing. * We're starting to work on the raffle lioness system changes that were mentioned in Community Update #238: implementing raffle studs and adding a confirmation system that will reroll the winner if the original winner doesn't claim her for 30 days. 309 players like this post! I agree with what was said at the bottom of the previous page. Treasure hunting is just a normal sized event split into 3 mini events. If you’re going to nerf ochre powder then gmo cows, buffys, and gnaw rocks should also be nerfed/price raised because their events run for the same amount of time. 6 players like this post! Like? @evil reallylongsnake (#486468) Really? I was under the impression since encounter rates aren't the best for everyone the prices would be lowered. The prices being raised would cause a lot more controversy, since almost everyone I've seen has been having less than 10 jb in one energy bar. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

@Thoth 🖤[10/30 Cows]🖤Splash (#230702) Literally yesterday I used I think 10 energy bars and only got 2 JB from exploring, that is wild to me that that can happen, I have been here 8years and have never had this issue this bad. 2 players like this post! Infinightive (#177615) :: Thank you for addressing both sides calmly. It means a lot. 🫂 I used to be drastically more level-headed when approaching these conversations, but dev decisions the last few years have actually bankrupted me on LD before. And it's very, *very* easy for me to get upset now when I see more decisions that can direly affect me financially. It's never solely speculation either. A lot of the crashes I saw coming when changes were implemented. There seems to be a pattern. Prior to the pie/patch crash, I spent everything I had saving up to buy 2 patch applicators. In past years, G2 statty patches were selling for 15+ GB easy. I do stats, so that was easy for me. But then they changed the way Apps were given on black friday, and the market crashed - both for apps and g2s. It's never recovered since, and they won't fix it despite several highly upvoted suggestions and heavy conversations about why it needs fixed. That single decision bankrupted me. Every GB i had, i lost on those purchases. My lions never sold for even a fraction of what I spent. And it's taken me 2 years and them making jaglion boosts we could sell for me to be able to have more than a few dozen GB at a time saved up anymore - because I no longer have the energy to grind like I used to due to my health; because prices are at an all time low on everything; because of *many* factors outside of any of our control. So now, when changes are made which impact the few remaining stable markets, I practically see red. It feels like it's a matter of time until all markets except hybrids and RLCs are decimated. This is literally how many of us make money, and so often, it feels like the people who do the actual grinding are getting boned here. Yes, it's expensive for breeders to buy items. But we put the time and effort into grinding it for breeders to buy and I want our time and effort to be worth it. Aren't our efforts worth it too? Edit: Appreciate it Lollyz 🫂 I'm sorry too, even if you can't see this still. I think we're all a bit anxious about everything on LD these days. It's so easy to watch everything we've worked for crumble. 9 players like this post! Like? Edited on 15/09/24 @ 09:44:57 by [△] Nadir (#108458) |

On the topic of market decimation, I'd say RLCs are likely already starting to head down that path. I've seen people struggling to sell their RLCs and even I just gave up on one I had 😅 2 players like this post! Like? |

I'm always here to try and find common ground between sides! I do agree with all of your points, however. Breeding items are high in price because users have to spend a lot if they want to get a lot worth their while in the events, such as february. ochre powders are expensive as we had no clue when they would return, only that they would one day. They'll likely decrease in price, and if not just buy them in the event when they're cheapest - simple solution! I feel as though the devs have made all of these amazing changes, but at the core they're not all that amazing as they have corrupted and distorted the very fragile system users spent years building. The TC has been crashing since probably about 2021, and in the recent 18ish months it's gotten worse and worse with each new update added - I wish they would stop adding new stuff and focus on QoL or getting their knuckles into the thousands of suggestion topics and getting them sorted out. it could take a couple of years to get through, but it's what a lot of us want and would appreciate - they said they'd do this back in december and i've barely seen any user-made suggestions being implemented. 9 players like this post! @Jewel: Ah no. I wonder if it's an over-saturation thing, lack of interest or something else. That's unfortunate to hear. I'll have to look into that more when I can. 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 15/09/24 @ 09:48:35 by [△] Nadir (#108458) |

Yeah I think it could be. Might be that plus people going more for Jags currently so RLCs slowed down more for the time being, but I'm not too sure since I noticed around when Jags were teased but not implemented yet. So idk if it got worse since then cuz I've been mostly out of the RLC scene since somewhere around February xd 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Infinightive (#177615) :: Right. It's a labor fee basically. You're paying someone for doing the work for you, effectively. Coz a lot of breeders also do their own grinding, but if you want more, well, yannow. And I'm always happy about the new changes. I am. Almost all my suggestions are QoL because those are the updates I want the most. Custom Decors in the wardrobe was huge. I've wanted it for years. Also recoding it was a huge boon for everyone. Those load times were crazy. A ton of past QoL updates have had me more excited than the breedable or decor content. Being real with you? I seldom care much about aesthetic or breed content now. I feel old /hj I understand the importance of adding fresh new content, but I think too much has been added at once. Do you remember the last 10 bases added? What about markings? I don't. I forgot a bunch of these even existed. I think it'd be both less work on the team, and more satisfying, to let new content sit and be enjoyed longer. Not only would it be less stress to constantly push out a ton of bulk new features, but maybe the value of what's put out would hold. I agree. Whole-heartedly, I want the recode, male poses and a look at QoL more than anything else. I really hope that January perhaps sees a focus on the recode and QoL. I want to enjoy Lioden again. I used to. I want that feeling back. But in order to spend on fun, I need the economy to heal. We all would benefit from the devs opening a forum for serious conversation about the state of the game's economy. I hope maybe that happens, so users can share their experiences and we can figure out what went wrong and how to fix it. 6 players like this post! Like? |

Regarding bases, true. At the same time, I'm still kinda hoping there would be a combo using Solaris so my side king can be useful xD 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Thank you for updating and keeping all of us in the loop. It can sometimes be easy to forget Lioden is a smaller level game that has a few devs, rather than a huge team working on it. We do appreciate y'all, every update. Reminder folks, young and older, without the devs, we would not have Lioden at all. Be kind, be lovely, be patient, and good things will happen with time. ♥ 3 players like this post! Like? |

I think ultimately what feels the worst for players complaining about encounter rates this event is the sheer volume of event encounters that don't give any JB. Makes the grind feel very pointless and unrewarding when you do get unlucky like that. 11 players like this post! Like? Edited on 15/09/24 @ 14:33:57 by Terrinthia [G1] (#97101) |
