Just keep searching; use bone marrow and do gorilla quests as often as you can for extra energy. Part 2 is renowned to be veeeeery slow with encounters being extremely rare, sometimes you would not find any in a day of searching - its not a bug, that's how it works for everyone.

You can try using items that decrease encounters - Hyena Butter, Sanafica - but they only last for a short time and they dont increase chances of finding the tracks all that much. If you have lots of energy at once, like using energy roots, you can also use Coffee Beans to get more steps out of it.
