Say you want this one specific colour of beetle. You've got the slots to breed for it, but you don't want to fill one of those slots buying said beetle. My suggestion: Beetle studding. Would function like lion studding, except beetles. A maximum stud slots could be added or not, I'll leave that to the devs if it gets added.

Right now, beetles don't really do a lot except fight and fill your beetle book. The beetle system should be expanded more. Let me profit off my beetle collection without losing my precious little guys.

You could charge a certain stud price, then someone can send a request, you'd be notified, and can choose whether or not to accept the request and when. Since breeding your own beetles doesn't need energy or matter about fertility (please don't make it so it does), studding probably wouldn't too. It would (obviously) be limited to beetles within the same species.
