Saw something that kinda irked me so I'm here to research... Has anyone here read the Forrest Gump book? If so, would you say Jenny is an entirely different character? Like, would you say the movie kinda screwed her over due to time restrictions?
I've only ever watched the movie, and I feel Jenny is a very complicated character due to reasons I will spare because if you've watched the movie you know. But I feel the movie focuses way too much on her low points and her redemption is kinda nonexistent. Despite this, I really empathize with Jenny and understand how her situation made her act the way she did. I've seen people argue that she actually just flat out sucks.
So, if you've read the book, would you say she is more fleshed out and understandable? Would you recommend reading the book? I think about the movie way too often and I've even been to one of the restaurants lol
