Hi, I’ve been on Lioden for about a year or so. I worked hard and spent money to try to get my main lion as nice looking as possible. It was OK until it wasn’t. Whenever I seen other players lions that looked almost unreal, I did admit I got jealous of them, but Lord only knows what they did to achieve that appearance for their lion. I do try to play every day and I do almost every quest or every feature in this game, but I’m still not getting nowhere. I just kinged one of my sub males. As much as he looks gorgeous, he still nowhere near the idea of lion I wanted. It takes forever to get something such small as a specific marking, nevertheless, a mutation which is a rare occasion that has yet to reach me. Now I have tried to purchase lions with a mutation, but some of the prices on them are outrageous, but I understand it could be a loss for those who are selling it. And the ones that are cheaper are the ones that are already frozen so there’s no use in buying them. Now I did find a way to customize my lion in a way to see what appearance I want my lion to achieve but as I see, it is impossible to get it down to the exact tea. I love the wardrobe feature on this website really gives me kind of hope when I don’t have any because I’m getting nowhere. Now that I fully decorated my lion to the point where I feel like I would be satisfied to keep playing forever, I thought I could purchase or download the appearance from the wardrobe, but I can’t because it is simply for a tryout only. That was really disappointing. I know it sounds stupid, but I wish that we can buy the appearances that We customize on wardrobe and I don’t mind if it’s a little bit more on the expensive side just like it is when your customizing for gold beetles. If it’s not too much of a drag, do you think that you guys could do that? Let me know and if not, why? P.S: Please be kind if you oppose this idea. |

It took me three years and way too much to breed my leader, and it would just feel absolutely crushing if the devs implemented this change after everything I invested. One of Lioden's main mechanics is breeding, and aside from the customizing feature which only allows basic traits, many attributes are usually obtained through breeding. Most of the popular mutations for kings are very cheap, and mut-repping is usually less cheap, but very simple with the . While I don't support, I hear your frustration, and I'm sure myself and many others in the community wouldn't mind giving you advice and tips to obtain your dream king. 2 players like this post! ( Member ID #208511 / #304446656297 )I understand and respect your opinion. I can also understand the frustration and the probably heartbreak you’ll experience if this were to go through. For three years is a very long time as I do not doubt the amount of money you spent for gold beetles, and gold beetles you spent. I just wonder if we could just save newer players from suffering from this same experience too. It is common sense that this game is based off of breeding, but what’s the point when it’s not getting the results you’re trying so hard for? I’m not saying this to be a lazy cheater who doesn’t really wanna play the game. I just wish it was a genuinely easier to get the appearance you’d like even if it’s just for main lion. I’m not saying a complete customization but maybe just more options and a option to buy a mutation if it is not available or you have not been able to get one as an outcome for a very long time. I love this game my whole heart, but sometimes I just wish it had more options when it comes to decorating/customizing your main lion. 0 players like this post! Like? RNG can be brutal, but you have a lot of options for pushing said RNG in your favor. My project was so cruel because I could apply none of the traits and had to breed every single thing on one-by-one before they added ochre powders at the tail-end of my suffering--I'm also grossly unlucky. I failed a 25% chance over twenty times in a row lol. A lot of people's breed-only projects seem to only take a year. But, anyway, you wouldn't even technically need to breed the lion of your dreams if it was fully or mostly applicator. I'm not opposed to making things more accessible necessarily, but I just can't really support this. It feels like too much of a shortcut when we already have all these applicators, breeding items, and dirt-cheap muties. Mutie on Demand applicators exist, though they are often very expensive except for Ticked and Primal. That's pretty much "buying a mutation" to slap on an existing lion without having to mutation replace. Those two are mentioned are relatively inexpensive. Lioden is a play-to-win game, and while I hate RNG as much as it hates me, I don't know how much I jive with this feature that feels more pay-to-win. Luck keeps things a little more balanced, unfortunately for those RNG has a vendetta against. And with how expensive it would have to be to be fair, it wouldn't be accessible to or feasible for the average player anyway. You would probably be better off using applicators or trying to breed something. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

[ Member ID #208511 / #304446656297 ] Thank you, I understand your opinion. I’m sorry that you cannot support this idea. I agree with you when you say it would feel like a play-to- win. although necessarily the average game player is not too lucky just like you. Some projects take more than a year just like yours as well. Not a lot of people have the will or motivation like you to wait out that long due to personal reasons or life situations. And you’re right about the average player may not having the funds to purchase such said items. Most of the items on my dream king are typically average markings, but not average enough for a lion to have them individually together. It would be a huge effort in a long journey to breed the markings I desire nevertheless achieve the mutation I also desire. I do think the game is generally fair, but the chances of a average player getting a specific marking or even achieving a mutation and explore is at least 20% and even if you do encounter such lionesses, it’s harder to claim them almost impossible, even when I did have a dreamboat lion and tried out all types of combos to charm the lioness. Nevertheless, I will take your reply and think about it more. Thank you. 0 players like this post! Like? Edited on 27/10/24 @ 20:38:42 by envylvrs (#453368) |

The stepping stone process is a big part of breed-only game. It's what many people did to achieve their kings, myself included. Out of curiosity, can I ask what your dream king looks like? It might be fully achievable without breeding, or with minimal breeding. You don't have to breed on a mutation for your king, by the way. You can king a lion whose looks you like, and then king a mutie while having the option "Keep previous heir's appearance" selected. You'll have a lion with the same looks, but with the mutation. I didn't breed my king with the corrupted patches. A lot of piebald cubs sell for less than 2gb, some for less than 1gb. Basic primals are similarly inexpensive. They're easily obtainable if you don't want something more out there. 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Okay! So. Your problem is that you're after a hybrid king. Hybrids are expensive, valuable kinds of lions, and hybrid kings are really only for trophies--they're a real pain to have due to their breeding restrictions. They're not like normal kings. Hybrids are most worthwhile as breeding females for most players. Otherwise, your appearance would be decently easy to obtain. The rosette would be the hardest part, but you'd just have to get a lion with onyx rosette in slot 4. You could apply every other trait. Fiery undershine, hibiscus feralis, kimanjano lace, and proteles heavy noctis are applicator markings, and henna puma and onyx face carving can be applied with the 3gb marking applicator in Oasis. Inferno base, noctis mane, and snake eyes are also all applicators, and pink skin can be given with the 400sb applicator in Monkey Business. You can sell the crunchy worms in the manticore shop for around 20gb, and you could sell a few for the applicator costs. If you're aligned demon or angel, the Angelic Blessings and Shadows of Death are worth GB too, just not as desirable as the crunchy worms. 3 players like this post! Like? |

The main issue with this suggestion is - barring the years it can take to breed a project king - this would turn Lioden into "if you've got a few hundred/thousand GB you can make your dream king in ten minutes" and then make bank off of it's cubs. My suggestion would be- It's one thing if you wanted a trophy lion to look like your dream king if you didnt feel like putting in the effort to breed one (your king will be easy to acquire, but for all thoss that make a unique lion of all BO traits...it can take many years IRL if you arent lucky :') ) in which case if you just wanted a mascot that was unsellable, I think that'd be a cool feature. Just a mascot for your den or for art or smthn. That'd be cool, you can't do anything with it except post it/pose it/etc. in that way I'd say wardrobe is mostly there, you just have to get people to either click on the link or HTML the image on your denpage somewhere. :) 2 players like this post! Honestly, you'll have to put in the effort or pay someone for a lion they've bred that's close enough to like. Lioden, contrary to popular belief, is not Pay To Win - nor should it be! Imagine if we could all create perfect kings with rare slots for some GB that can be made from other players by grinding events??? There would be no reason to actually play - think about how it feels playing a game in creative mode (like Minecraft) for example; once you've built and smashed everything you want to, what is there left to do? If you're dedicated, your project can be done in a year - I've done it. I started with this boy and finished with this baby - and I barely bought any GB, instead, I worked in the events for the items I needed; January & September for Treasure Hunting, February for Buffalo Scrotums/Grains of Paradise, September again for Ochre Gnawrocks/Saltlicks, October for Crunchy Worms (which will be used to clone the final product so I have options!). I also agree with Leon, and would NOT be kinging a hybrid king - they can only breed to Goddess Fertility lionesses, which also massively reduces your studding income. I also noticed your current studs rules demanding you get given a cub from the litter; that's not how studding works, and you aren't allowed to demand such things from other players. Looking at your wardrobe link, everything but the rosette is an applicator I believe. It's also worth noting that the Oasis does have an actual customisation feature. However it is limited to Custom/Common bases/markings/eyes and not applicator items, so you'd be unlikely to get what you want from it, but its a good starting point to see what markings etc can be applied with Oasis marking apps and such. 3 players like this post! It's called wardrobe for a reason. You "try on" an appearance or items in order to see how it looks. Everyone starts at the bottom. How they play the game determines their path. If you participate in the monthly events and don't sell anything in season you'll get GB. Feburary is a excellent month to grind full force. You can even mass use energy boosts and still make a over double what you put into it. Hearshells are that plentiful. You just need to be patient. 1 player likes this post! Like? |
