“Was it really worth it?” Ismay often found herself asking this question, though she dare never speak it. For every life that she saved, her life was shortened. She had saved her beloved but at what cost? The time she would spend with them was slowly becoming less and less everyday. A non stop flow of patients desperate to be saved by Ismay She never had time to herself anymore. For she knew in her heart, she could never send away someone in need of help. If she had the ability to save someone, why not use it? Ismay hardly talked to her friends and family anymore. Too busy with saving lives to have time to herself. The cries of her patients still echo in her ear from time to time. “Please save my cub, amazing shaman!” “You have to help me please I beg of you!” The pitiful cries for help always followed her wherever she went. Despite her ever shortening lifespan Ismay never turned away a patient Her heart was too soft to ever turn down someone who needed her help. Even as her body slowly began to fail her, she still continued saving others. Despite aching bones, migraines, shaking legs and leaky eyes she still helped others. Nobody could truly ever understand the weight of the sacrifice she had made And once her life ran out, there was nobody to mourn for her For Ismay had died alone, curled up in dried leaves. And she remained alone and undiscovered for many generations… 1 player likes this post! Like? Edited on 08/11/24 @ 10:46:32 by 💮 Cherry (#275867) |
