I am an extremely new player, having joined only last month. Obviously, I’ve never played through any other month’s storylines and events outside of last month and this month. Because I have the patience of a hungry cat watching its owner prepare its food, I’ve been looking around at the Wikipedia to look through all of the events, not only to see all of the encounters, but to be aware of the good things I could buy. Made the mistake of siding with the demons and missed out on so many crunchies ANYWAYS I skip to March because I keep hearing about Groupies and have no idea what the hell they are. And I discover him. V'Kai. Unreasonably precious, and I need him in my pride immediately. Now, I’ve been hearing about people attempting to clone raffle lionesses, but there are so many acronyms and terms used that I can’t even tell what’s being said half of the time. However, since there is info on V'Kai’s markings, I thiiiiink this kind of breeding could be applied to this particular situation? I’m not 100% sure. Anyways, does anyone have any info on how I would hypothetically go about trying to recreate V'Kai? I know it’d probably cost thousands of GB so I probably won’t, but it’s mostly to satisfy my curiosity 0 players like this post! Like? |

The most important thing to start with is to understand which traits of his you can apply and which you HAVE to breed on! 5-6 of his markings are breed-only, which isn't a small amount, but it's not that bad either. Tier 2 markings are by default breed-only. White Bottom is a piety marking, meaning it can be applied this month, but in every other month of the year, you'll have to breed it on as well. Aside from that, every other trait of his can be applied at any time of the year. Applying traits can be expensive, but applicable traits are a good thing--there's no breeding RNG involved. Fiery Undercover is an applicator from the Flood Pit, and you'd get the rest of the markings from the marking applicator in Oasis. There's a base applicator, mane shape, mane color, and eye color changer in Oasis as well that you may need. The skin changer is in Monkey Business. I think the biggest cost would come from the kinging if you'd decide to go that route. You start by kinging a lion with the most traits you can get on one starter, and then you breed to lions with different needed traits. Once you get a cub that combines the king's needed traits and the mother's needed traits, you king that. Repeat until death. Or completion. Whichever comes first. I bred my current leader with this process. Every single trait bred on except two markings, which I used random marking applicators for (psst, don't recommend doing this if you have a certain marking in mind, it gets expensive fast!) Obtaining the bisected piebald would also be a significant cost if you decide to pursue that route and you're unlucky. Bisected can be technically applied, but the applicator is around 200gb and random. Lion scrotums can pass the piebald at 25% per cub, but you'd still need the cub to roll all the breed-only markings too, and it might just not work. Ochre powders would be a huge help if you decide to attempt the project. They'll be back in January. I can't calculate the exact cost since it depends on how many times you'd hypothetically king, what items you'd choose to use, etc.. If you forego the piebald, or choose one with a non-random MoD, it would probably cost around a couple hundred GB. With that said, if you care about the final product not being inbred and you're not going to use him as a king, that adds another layer of difficulty and more kinging fees. I think the way that goes is that you make your final king heritageless, or sufficiently low generation, and breed to a bunch of NCLs. Then you keep the cubs that have the most traits, make your king heritageless AGAIN once you have enough breeders, and spam breed until you get lucky. A lot of it then is just luck and willpower, though it's also almost 1 am for me so I may be severely skipping over something. 1 player likes this post! Like?
