This is a guide I decided to try and make for the new explore encounters involving the primals! Please let me know which ones you came across and what the encounter was!

Felis Primal Day

You spot a Felis primal climbing a tree. The trunk shakes as the branches heavily sway down under the massive weight of the feline.

Climb Up : You gasp, feeling cub-like energy growing inside of you. This tree can hold a Primal?! You eagerly start clawing at the tree, making the other lion nervous. A mass of fruit falls to the ground from your disturbance, and you finally settle in the cozy middle branch split to have a nice chat with your neighbour. You got 1 x Fermented Marula Fruit! +2 Karma

Insult : You make a snarky remark about the Primal's weight and the oh-so meager branches barely holding the tree together. The lion cannot do anything but listen as you sit under him and make fun of his butt rolling out towards the ground as he lies on a branch much thinner than himself and bursting into laughter when debris falls down whenever he moves to yell at you. Ahhh, that was fun. (+1 Scarab Beetle, +5% Energy)

Mark Territory : This guy just walks onto your territory and climbs onto your trees without any interaction and thinks it's not rude? Bah! You make sure he remembers this is YOUR tree. As long as he sleeps here, he will smell that fact better than the tree's bark. You kick up some dust as he yells at you and throws things your way. Whatever, man! (+2 Scarab Beetles) You got 1 x Herb: Marula Fruit!

Hidden Primal Day

Wandering around your territory, you sheepishly look around some boulders and gasp audibly when you notice two shiny eyes staring at you from a cave. You can smell a strong primal scent.

Try to peek : You approach the entrance slowly, trying to lower your head and see what kind of feline cryptid is hiding inside. A mid-sized paw smacks you and a deep growl warns you to not come closer. You growl back, and awkward silence follows as you both are at an impasse. Eventually, a few shiny things roll out from the cave. Alright, nice bribe. Time to go. (+3 Scarab Beetles)

Primal Cubs Day

Accompanied by a cacophony of roars and squeals, a big fur ball rolls into your path. It's two primal cubs having a squabble over who is stronger and nobody seems to win.

Split them : You huff and put your paw between the two, barely separating cubs that are stronger than an average cub their age. The surprise and shock in their eyes slowly reflects the realisation they are no longer in their dad's territory. You try to ask what's going on, but they keep talking over each other, until you have to use a stick to keep them far apart enough to be able to listen, one ear for each one of them. Ah yes, the very important issue of NOT going into each other's nest and using sibling's toys. When you suggest sharing the toys they look at you like you just said the most absurd thing. They seem glad somebody finally listened to them without roaring, though. Must be hard being a dad of multiple primal cubs. (+1 Scarab Beetle) You got 1 x Stick!

Growl : You waste no time and growl at them, putting them into their places. They curl up and growl back, but calm down enough to be talked to. You give them instructions on how to get back to their own territory and ask what they were squabbling about. They whine about a cool bone they found and how it should belong to the one who found it, but it looks like they both found it at the same time. It seems like they don't want to share, so you just take it from them, expressing it was found on YOUR territory. Problem solved. The cubs leave in a huff, accusing each other of who is to blame for this turn of events. (+1 Scarab Beetle) You got 1 x Broken Tusk!

Female Primal Day

What smells like a lone female lion at first turns out to be a Primal female. She must be a lioness of one of the neighbouring kings. Looks like she's looking for herbs along the edge of the territories.

Show around : You approach carefully and ask what kind of herb she's looking for. She steps back in hesitation, but appears to be desperate enough to describe the herbs to a stranger. You perk up, happy to show your favourite patch along an eroded cliff nearby. You pick the herbs together for a bit and get to know each other. Looks like your neighbours are going to brew some weird stews. (+1 Scarab Beetle) You got 1 x Herb: Buchu and 1 x Herb: Honey Bush!

Show your moves : You puff up and strut around, greeting her with your deepest, most charming voice. She laughs and thanks you, but she's not into... well, you. She asks where she could find some Buchu, and you exhale sadly and describe the area she should look out for. She snickers and gives you a small gift for your restraint and kindness. (+1 Scarab Beetle, +1% Impression) You got 1 x Amber!

Ferus Primal Day

You spot the movement of an unfamiliar feline. When you crouch down to stay out of sight, you spot a Ferus female doing her hunting duties on the edge of your territory. After an unsuccessful pounce, you decide to approach her.

Hunt together : You gasp, asking if you can join the next try. Pride hunters usually have their own methods and never invite you. She agrees after looking you over critically. You feel relief when you seem to meet her standards. You suggest hunting around a human camp nearby and you both land a big, tasty meal. (+1 Scarab Beetle) You got 1 x Domesticated Sheep Carcass!

Give directions : You yell out and catch her attention from afar. She lets you approach and you both greet and exchange information about your prides. Looks like most of the herds moved away from her territory and she's having troubles stalking prey due to her bigger size. You ponder for a while, until you remember a big herd of goats led by some humans not that far away. No guns, but you and them have a deal - only take one goat per month, without hurting the humans. You haven't bothered them in a while anyway. The Ferus lioness gives you a token of gratitude. (+2 Scarab Beetles) You got 1 x Natural Glass!

Smilus Primal Day

The ground shakes as a Smilus primal roars and stomps around a burrow, unable to get a snack from the ground.

Help out : You butt in, eagerly asking if you can help out, as you've been trying to get into these tunnels yourself. With this big guy's help, surely you'll get to the core easily! The lion agrees and you both spend some time digging. The moment the Smilus finds a big chonky fluffball, he looks at you, questioning if you deserve half of it, or maybe a bit less, as he's bigger. You chuckle that you found something much nicer; whatever the fluffball was hiding in its den seemed shiny enough. (+2 Scarab Beetles) You got 1 x Plant Fossil!


Ironic joke : You sit down and hand the Smilus a round or two of roasting jokes, because why would a big swole bulky lion like him have trouble getting to a meek, silly rabbit? You watch the show as the lion gets angrier and angrier, trying to dig into the tunnels, but he finds nothing but dirt. You laugh as he leaves, covered in soil and bitter like a swamp monster. (+1 Scarab Beetle, +5% Energy)
