With the release of Ennedi and it's unique pass rules, I was a tad shocked to find no new primal variants that were variations of Ennedi, like Smilus and Felis with Primal. So I decided to suggest some!

They would work the exact same as Smilus and Felis (listed below for reference):

After researching a few prehistoric/extinct cats, I saw two that I think would be perfect variations:

1. Panthera Fossilis, an ancestor or subspecies to the Cave Lion:

(clickable, leads back to an article that talks about the decreasing size of cave lions!)

This would be called Primal: Fossilis. Mostly based off of the appearance of the reconstruction, I thought it looked pretty similar to Ennedi!

2a. This may a bit of a longshot, but Barbourofelis fricki-- technically not a cat, but a convergent evolution apart of the Nimravidae family.

(clickable for credit purposes)

These guys filled a niche similar to Smilodons before going extinct. I think they look different enough from Smilus to be considered! A lot of the Smilodons and other prehistoric cats look similar after a time, and I think this guy is just different enough to be considered. Alternatively...

2b. Megantereon whitei, apart of the dirk-toothed cat family.

These guys look different enough from the other primals we have, and it looks pretty similar to Ennedi. Would be called Primal: Whitei (Ennedi is meant to be a living saber-tooth cat, so this works pretty well logistically too. Clickable for credit purposes.)

With the addition of these primals, I think the Felis & Smilus would be locked to the OG Primal, and these would be locked to Ennedi. Alternatively, you could keep Felis and Smilus tied to Ennedi! Don't really care either way.

Thank you for reading! If no support, please tell me why!

Ennedi is already a variant of the default Primal mutation based on the naming conventions of the Primal line of mutations (the default simply being Primal, Felis being Primal: Felis, Smilus being Primal: Smilus, Ferus being Primal: Ferus, and now we have Primal: Ennedi Vossoko. It is not new for a Primal to have unique breeding mechanics. Feruses are also unique in that way.

It is true that this is the first of the non-default variants to receive an MoD, but I take it more as simply a form of acquisition, like Ferus has the Mukombero, rather than it indicating that its entirely its own "category" of Primal.

For this reason, I do not support it having variants of its own. I am, however, open to more Primal variations.

Ennedi is not a variant to the OG Primal, but Felis and Smilus are. They are all primals, but the variations aren't necessarily tied to each other. For example, Ferus is not tied to any of the primals and is its own thing, but it's still a primal.

I'm suggesting that each MOD (both OG Primal and Ennedi) have a unique set of variants: Felis and Smilus would be exclusively tied to Primal, while Ennedi would have two variants tied to itself. I would not consider Ennedi to be a variant of the OG primal mutation because you cannot get Ennedi from Primal, like how you can't get Ferus from primal.

Does that make sense?
