[ Support My Other Suggestions? ] Making Sub Males More Useful Make Grandpaws How They Were Meant to Be ------- ✪ Summary: I was thinking we could use more unique top-coat markings. "Prince" - so named after a certain young prince who couldn't wait to be king - would be a set of subtle top coat markings that nicely blend into faded, low opacity around the edges. ✪ What I Am Proposing: [+] A set of randomly-appearing, colour-group based breed-only markings. These spontaneous markings can appear on any cub, regardless of appearance or mutation, at a very low rate when neither parent has the mark - similar to though not quite as rare as rosettes. These markings would be breed only, and the only items in the game that affect their pass rate are Ochre Gnaw Rocks and Ochre Powder. They can be passed from a parent with the marking at a low rate, and a slightly boosted rate by breeding to another lion with the marking in the same slot. Ideally, this marking would appear only in slots 4 through 10, as it is intended to be a top coat marking, that layers over other markings. Additionally, if mechanics permit, I would like their colours to be tied to the genetics group of the parents bases. It is my hope these markings would appear in the following colours: Black Genetics: Cimmerian, Desolate, Snowpard, Ebony, Flint, Ashen Cream Genetics: Senegal, Arabica, Finch, Tusk, Soot, Teardrop Golden Genetics: Doubloon, Goridhe, Bone, Dandelion, Sunkissed, Mobola Red Genetics: Mulberry, Cassis, Rhubarb, Fiery, Sapela, Cinnabar Example 1: Parent A (Cream) x Parent B (Red) A Prince marking appearing on the cub can only be from the Cream or the Red lists above. Example 2: Parent A (Has Cream Prince Mark on BDS App Base) x Parent B (Black) A Prince marking appearing on the cub has a low chance of being the Cream Prince mark (passed from Parent A), or a Black prince mark (spontaneously appearing from either black genetics of the parents) inherited randomly at a very low rate. This method of tying the marking to a base coat colour allows some degree of reliability for players hoping to breed certain markings, while providing a higher chance that the Prince marking that appears will complement their lion's base coat design. A graphic describing how this marking differs from other spots and rosettes: There is no artwork reference image at this time, so please enjoy this very cute lil guy I found holding his blanket who has marks as I'm describing. If you don't support, I'd like to know why. I appreciate constructive criticism over a simple "no". |

I think this sounds cute! Could get in the way of breeding projects, but I would like to see more random things happen during breeding. Makes shit more interesting in my opinion! I'd just riot if there wasn't a cinnabar recolor. As a cinnabar breeder I hate sapela with every fiber of my soul LOL 4 players like this post! Like? |

Supported! It’s a really cool idea, and it WOULD be nice to have more randomly-appearing markings that aren’t rosettes 2 players like this post! Like? Edited on 03/12/24 @ 17:30:58 by Atlas {Main} 🍁 (#189810) |

XD Sapela is lovely! Just a bit painful after so many near-misses with sapela instead of cinnabar during my breeding projects. I do love it though, and I'd love to see more suggestions of randomly appearing traits like these as well! Breeding can feel too predictable sometimes; I'd love some variety honestly. Are you suggesting it look like the cute spots cubs have, basically? 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Leon: I used to froth when Sapela passed instead of Mada. I feel you! And yes, it'd look like the cute spots on lion cubs and stay their whole lives. :3 Some cub bases have this on their artwork, especially the old yellow bases, but I'm suggesting it be updated, re-drawn and re-shaded, and made into a proper passable marking. Atlas: Thank you! Rosettes have become so common that the charm of getting one has sort of dulled. So I'd absolutely love to see some alternate rare, random markings. I have more markings with unique conditions on the back burner I haven't gotten around to yet, but maybe some day. I really want to bring more fun into breeding again. 1 player likes this post! i LOVE this idea actually, this reminds me of those tiny little spots you see on early stage cubs and i am so SAD when they have to go as the cub grows, purely just a cute idea and overall i support this <3 (hmu if you need art references done perhaps) 0 players like this post! Like? |

Support. I'd love a random appearing marking other then rosettes. JUST TO clarify -- because I'm sure I'm not the only one confused about this -- I would suggest adding this into the original post too... what kind of marking is it?? Because there are several variations of markings on the one image you have up there. And I am left confused and wondering what kind of marking you mean. So I'm assuming the markings are meant to look something like these four images, yes ??? Because if it's anything like the ones below / the image you currently have... I would say it's too close in appearance to Cheetah, Panther, Fawn, Dinictis, and Margay markings... and is therefore not quite unique enough (in my opinion). 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thanks I'll elaborate a bit more in the graphic below. While the idea you proposed is very cool, I admit it's not what I was going for with this one. I'd def love to see that one added as an alternate suggestion, though. Could be really cool to have it as a paint even. 0 players like this post! Like? |

Thank you for the elaboration! This does help get a since of the marking now, very appreciated. While I am not a personal fan of the marking described, I still do support the addition of a new random marking to appear! ^-^ 1 player likes this post! Like? |

Thank you much for still supporting even if it's not your flavor of marking <3 If we can get more spontaneous markings added, and maybe this gets approved, I have a desire to make more, and also some markings exclusive to rolled kings I've been sitting on for a few years. 0 players like this post!
