Stat builders, are you tired of checking in on your submale patrol hour upon hour, only to find that he gained absolutely nothing? Would you like to stop feeling like you want to throw your keyboard out the window when it happens multiple times in a row? This is the item suggestion for you! Lucky Horseshoe, a September exclusive item that functions the same as Angelic blessings and SoD's in that it's an equippable decor with a single use. Equipping a lion with this decor guarantees a minimum +1 stat gain per hunt or patrol. It does not raise the chance to gain more than +1 stat, but it at least ensures that your lion never again experiences a completely fruitless endeavor. This item could be a tier 3 shop item, or perhaps a very rare explore event. Perhaps the same hunt encounter that occasionally yields black stallions could also sometimes reward the player with an unusually well-groomed horse with something shiny stuck on one of its hooves. We have zoo-escapee animal encounters already, so an escaped ridden horse isn't a stretch. Please let me know your thoughts and ideas for ensuring such an item is balanced in gameplay! |

Surely the better suggestion would be to remove the +0 stat patrols as an option for your sub to bring back? Basically make it so the minimum is 1 to 12, not 0 to 12. Just removing the 0 will improve the experience for all. That way its fair to all and not just "which stat builder has the most funds to hoard lucky horseshoes"? ![]() Edited on 14/01/25 @ 13:14:55 by Fraekinn [15BO Constellation] (#57572) |

Oh, this is an excellent idea! Nothing is more frustrating than realizing you've only gained +3 stats when you've patrolled your sub 10+ times that day. That's 10 real-world hours for... not a lot. @Fraekinn: I dunno if that's a fair way of thinking about it. The suggestion never said it would be gotten any way that would give rich users an advantage (more than any other item, anyway). If it's an event item everyone has the same change to earn event currency and buy as many horseshoes as they want. I don't see it being any different than buffies or GMO cows. ![]() Edited on 14/01/25 @ 13:20:18 by Namgf [Nun Project King] (#76698) |

Stat building is already a very fund intensive process, with a very healthy economy around all of the items involved. I don't think fairness is a factor for people who are serious about it, especially since the current stat monsters on the site are living proof that you can perfectly fairly stat a lion even with the zero gains. ![]() |

@Namgf - Okay, look at Siren's Calls from the last event, they're being hoarded by better off players - and they're being bought for September is a slog to get currency for (lots of people last year thought it was broken), and so these "horseshoes" would already be priced pretty high to begin with as most people focus on Ochres/GMOs as you've mentioned. @Oreloki - I know it's fund intensive, I've been there and had 2 leaderboard stat kings (10k and 14k respectively) so please understand that I do know the market and I've watched it decline over my 10 years of playing. I know you can stat a lion "on the cheap"/without paying for it, I've done that too. I also happen to know a few of the stat monster players personally and happen to know they spend *thousands* of GB to do so, and they're also very competitive about staying on the top; they absolutely would buy these items to hinder other players. ![]() Edited on 14/01/25 @ 13:34:41 by Fraekinn [15BO Constellation] (#57572) |

@Fraekinn I still fail to understand how a single use item that lasts the entire duration of the lion's life so long as it's equipped could be abused in that way. It's not like Siren's Call in that hoarding them would be of any benefit. You can only feasibly patrol a max of two lions at a time, so you would only need two horseshoes. ![]() |

You would limit other players' access to it. If it's only a once a year item, and you buy them up until regular players cannot afford them, you would be depriving people of them strictly out of the need to nerf competition. 10 patrols without it 0-120 stats gained 10 patrols with it - 10-120 stats gained You'd be depriving people of the chance to also benefit. ![]() Edited on 14/01/25 @ 13:42:42 by Fraekinn [15BO Constellation] (#57572) |

@Fraekinn I understand that this is a difference in opinion, but personally I do not agree with 'everybody benefits' mechanics. I get that people can be assholes and abuse economy mechanics, but once you make something freely available to everybody, it becomes arbitrary and meaningless. Not trying to invalidate you. I do get what you're saying and can tell that you're speaking from experience, I just don't think it should be a basegame change to the patrol system. ![]() Edited on 14/01/25 @ 13:51:04 by Oreloki G1 Ennedi 7x🪼 NR (#370137) |
