Hi!!! with February coming up, and it being an explore heavy event, i’ve thought of this idea that i mulled over with some clan mates. it still is a work in progress, and any suggestions are more than welcome!!

Fighting is one of the encounters that take a lot of explore steps, and we already have an item to repel lionesses, why not one to ward off fighting npc’s?

We decided on an Olive branch, as it is seen as a peace offering. It could be a November item, either purchased from the shamans shop, or an explore encounter! - please note, i am aware there are fighting encounters for this event! :D i’d love to hear what others may think, as we aren’t sure if these fight encounters are coded separately to other fight encounters. on the contrary, there are multiple shaman quests that require you to find things OTHER than the tsavo/other lion(s) to fight. this item could also work for people in that way too! :)

i will be further updating this post with drawings, in case some aren’t convinced of the item and need a visual to get them on board!! (for now here’s my little doodle of an olive branch :3c)

some random ideas:

Can be used like Hyena butter/ Coffee beans.
15 minute (time subject to change) timer once the branch is used, and during this time you receive little to no fight encounters.
-
alternate way could be like a leopard orchid, below rabbits foot button (when having rabbits foot in one’s inventory) this would make it a one time use.

some flavor text ideas:
(if explore encounter): A white dove flies above, it swoops down, accidentally dropping one of the branches held in its beak! Sweet! you’ve got yourself an olive branch, the scent washes over you with a calming breeze.

(if used): You tuck away the branch in your mane, the scent soothing as it follows you.

(if used/alternate): you crush the green fruit under your paws, slicking your mane with fresh olive oil. the world seems a little calmer, and the birds speak softer in chirps.

now onto the ‘How will this affect current gameplay/ items?’
well, it was brought to my attention that some npc fights ARE event encounters. there’s that issue too, if the coding is the same for fights and event fights. if that’s the case, this can be revamped and reworked, thats why i have this forum! its to discuss, figure out what works and what doesn’t.

for example, a sirens call and olive branch might work against one another, so possibly if the fighting is coded the same as an event fight, these two items are not able to be used together. if you notice anything else that may affect this potential item please comment!!!

- Special thanks to Durne and Midas for assistance with this one :))
some extras that others have mentioned:
The Shaman shop, as a tier 3 item that costs between 100-200ScB . - Durne 31339
(as a background) olive orchid or olive trees it can be crafted with 30x olive branches - 260842

hitting that support button as hard as i can

even if it does affect the use of the siren's call, i'd like to see something like this in-game it'd give people an option of which they'd prefer, as some people don't like doing event battle encounters, so wouldn't miss them. and depending on the source of it and rarity, it might work as a poor man's siren's call
(it's me, i'm the poor man)

Smashing that support button like my life depends on it!

Yes yes yes please!

I’ve been on this sight for over ten years now and when I tell you, I absolutely avoid fighting NPC’s like the plague (unless required). This item will be a huge game changer and I am desperate for it to be added.

I definitely feel like it would be best used similarly to Hyena butter, in the sense that it doesn’t completely remove all npc encounters, but drastically reduces their appearance.
I feel like this would be perfect as an event shop item. The Shaman shop seems perfect! A tier 3 item that costs between 100-200ScB seems fair I think!

Love this idea! About time I comment on this post, been meaning to get around to doing so. I think this would be especially helpful in events that are less battle based like September, December, and some aspects of February. It may also be better used as catnip with a 30 minute time span compared to the 15 hyena butter has, especially since it’s a single-use item. Piggybacking off of Durne, I agree that it should simply decrease battle encounters over eliminating them completely. I support 100%, praying this gets added!
