I'm posting this thread to showcase the fantastic new colors I'm proposing in my Lioden Genetics Thread: Check it out!!! Every example posted here was rendered by the AMAZING Griff (#26694), and I'm very much indebted for all of the hard work put into each of these fantastic pieces! Because there will be MANY of these to share, I'm starting to break them down into sections that correspond with the color groups they belong to in my genetics model. If you like what's listed here, come see MORE: Brown/Black Colors of my Genetics Model Dilute Colors of my Genetics Model Orange Colors of my Genetics Model Colorpoint Colors of my Genetics Model Intensity Colors of my Genetics Model Golden Colors of my Genetics Model Cream Colors of my Genetics Model Without getting into the specifics of the genetics thread that inspired these, the basic concept of the color model is that the colors are arranged into NCL colors, Custom/Oasis colors, and Special/Raffle colors just as they are now, but there are two versions of each: a Solid version in which the color remains mostly the same throughout the body or the Ticked version in which the topline is darker and lightens in a countershading pattern where the belly, throat, and the feet are lighter in shade. With that said, here's what we'd like to show you in greater detail than the lil' thumbnails on the original thread: * Buff (NCL Color): the darkest shade of Golden in Ticked form. Griff (#26694) originally posted this color on this thread ![]() * Silver (Oasis Color): a combination of the Brown and Dilute gene in Ticked form. * Griff (#26694) originally posted this color on this thread ![]() * Platinum (Oasis Color): the Solid form of Silver. < ![]() * Pearl (Oasis Color): a combination of the Brown Lighter and Dilute gene in Ticked form. ![]() * Periwinkle (Oasis Color): the Solid form of Pearl. ![]() * Ruddy (Oasis Color): posted on my genetics thread before being offered as a mane color and upon which this color is based (inspired by the Abyssinian cat). The Ticked form of Mahogany. ![]() * Sorrel (Oasis Color): The Ticked form of Beige based on Walnut and inspired by the Abyssinian cat. ![]() * Burmilla (Oasis Color): The Ticked form of a Colorpoint gene, inspired by the Burmilla cat. ![]() * Burmese (Oasis Color): The Solid form of a Colorpoint gene, inspired by the Burmese cat. ![]() * Ceylon (Special/Raffle Color): The dark shade of Celestial, inspired by the spectacular Ceylon sapphire. Note how the tail tip looks like light reflected back out of one of the gem's facets! ![]() * Topaz (Special/Raffle Color): The Solid form of Fiery, inspired by the gem and based on the existing color. ![]() ***Added 8/10/14 for the new "Sliding Scale" modification of my genetics model*** * Ebony (Oasis/Custom Color): the dark shade of Black inspired by the dark wood. ![]() * Dikela (Oasis/Custom Color): the light shade of Black inspired by an African hardwood ![]() If you like what you see here and would like to see these bases added, please consider supporting Griff's colors threads and my genetics thread by clicking on the links posted above! Thank you for reading and looking at Griff's prettyful ladies! |

Loving all of these but especially the grey colors, ruddy, sorrel, and burmilla. Topaz I'm not too crazy about though cause it hurts my eyes a little but I'm digging Ceylon too. Lovely colors that stand out but aren't completely outrageous. I can see these fitting in with the base selection we have so you got my support. ![]() |

![]() Here is a bit of a toned down version of Topaz 5% lower saturation and 5% more lightness, that should make it slightly less burny XD. ![]() |

I've supported. Was looking for the other post about new base colour suggestions and I cant seem to find it! I did a small handful too I will post so you can see :) Shaded Cameo/Shaded Red ![]() Chinchilla ![]() Lemon (more unrealistic I know) ![]() And Agouti. I went with the shade you see wild rabbits with normally. I might do a high rufus agouti as well (they are much redder) ![]() The agouti also has an example of hazel eyes BTW I LOOOOOVE the Cylon!!! Love love love LOVE it <3 ![]() |

These are LOVELY, Treori! If I were integrating them into my genetics model, I'd like to see the Agouti added to the "Ticked" series as the darkest form of Rosy Brown (af_ Ti_, or Fawn + Ticking) and your proposed sub-rufous Agouti as the medium shade. With a little more darkening at the face and feet, they'd fit extremely well as Dilute forms of Burmese, which is a color gene I proposed that is currently unnecessary. In my system, I would place Chinchilla under the Colorpoint series with Ticking and Dilution (aa Ti_ B _ dd cbcb oo or Non-Agouti + Ticking + Black + Dilute + Burmese + Non-Orange). Shaded Cameo could work really nicely as a Red Burmese (aa Ti_ _ _ D_ cbcb O_ or Non-Agouti + Ticking *Orange masks Black* + Non-Dilute + Burmese + Orange) and Lemon could be the Cream-based dilution of Red Burmese or Cream Burmese. Thanks very much for the support - these are great colors, and I supported Hazel eyes! ![]() |
