MERKANO

Merkanos is what I call "Nameless-weird-specie-that-eats-souls". aka, a mix between the polar bear, horse, hyracotherium, sheep and some lion.
To be more clear... They resemble giant mooses! But sadly, they are not. D'aww.
But you shall not fear! They are still magnific creatures.
THEY'RE OMNIVORE. Meaning you should not let yourself be carried away by how inofensive and pretty they look- You haven't looked at their mouths yet, haven't you?
These are currently free to adopt! But you must be RESPONSIBLE.

What you're seeing here is a first generation Merkano. Coffee Base, Amber eyes, Slot 1 Fawn Spotting White, Slot 2 Dark Brown Ends, Slot 3 Front Facial 1. All at 100% Opacity

WHAT ARE
MERKANOS?

Merkanos are, to be exact, big omnivorous creatures. Evolution has designed them to confuse both prey & predator. Their equine/ovine facial structure, horse-resembling body, and short tail will confuse their prey, while their round eye pupils, big measure and clawed front paws will confuse the predator.

GROUPS: Merkanos aren't usually alone, until its a young or rogue male searching for a herd. Mares are not usually alone, but when they are, its either because they have been chased or decided to leave their herd in order to find a mate and avoid inbreeding.

DIET: Since Merkanos are onmivorous, they can eat fruits or hunt. Their fruitful diet consists usually on things they can reach by raising on their hindlegs or raising their neck. They NEVER eat grass due to their neck structure- To eat grass, they would have to be lying on the floor, because their neck is short and not very flexible.

If they go hunting, they'll probably pick herbivores with average to small sizes, but if they are a big group (4-6), they may venture to something bigger. Forest Merkanos could do deer, African Merkanos could try zebras, and Desert Merkanos could try oryx, just to set an example.
ENVIRONMENT: Merkanos can live almost in any biome, but the most common environment for them is forest and grassy areas. Colder environments make them have thicker, longer fur, while hotter environments make them have thin, shorter fur. Normal environments are a mix of the two.

BEHAVIOUR: Merkano males are usually extremely agressive with eachother if there are females in between, but can be calm if they're in a small rogue male group. The male leaders of the herds are the most agressive of it all, biting and stomping any male that gets near his females. Merkanos chase away their young males when they turn 2 years old. If a male doesn't do it, a female will. Merkano females are much more peaceful and will only fight if provoked. They may react aggressively to rogue maler trying to woo them, due to their loyal nature. When they're taking care of a filly or foal, they become almost as aggressive as males, and they won't let any Merkano (male or female) near their children until they're 2 months old. They can be equally defensive over other females' foals.

Bases, of course, are the base colour of all Merkanos. Currently, there are 10 bases. There are also 3 Shading groups, which are Dark, Medium, & Light. There are 4 Color groups, Red, Cream, Black, & Golden.

Markings, of course, are the difference in between all Merkanos. Currently, there are 76 markings (Including all color variations), and 30 not uncluding them. There are also 3 Colour groups, which are Dark Brown, Brown & White.

Eyes are the window to the soul of any living creature!
Currently, there are 9 eye colors. There are 3 Color groups, which are Red, Yellow, & Blue. And also, 3 Shading groups, which are Dark, Medium & Light.

Now, this is how breeding with eyes works (Yes, that, in another context, would indeed sound strange.):

Light x Dark = 25% Light | 25% Dark | 50% Medium
Dark x Medium = 65% Dark | 35% Medium

Color groups:

Red x Yellow = 50% Red | 50% Yellow

The item shop is a place where you can see accesories that could help fix, improve or change your Merkano character. From a marking removal item to a double pregnancy applicator- You can find a lot of interesting things here!
There are 2 categories to buy from: Breeding Items and Appearance Items.

Wait. How do I BUY these stuff?
Easy! If you want a certain item, you just have to send me THIS EXACT MESSAGE:
" Your name and ID here has requested to buy Exact Item Name for Name and ID of your Merkano, and wishes to use it instantly/keep it on inventory. "

FILLED OUT FOR MYSELF, it would look like THIS:
Lord Mauaji (#33232) has requested to buy Marking Removal for Unnamed (#1), and wishes to use it instantly.

The name of the message must be "ITEM PURCHASE"!
Remember to take off the spaces between the < and the b, or the bolding/italic won't work.
Once you've done all of this, i will RE-SEND you a TRADE LINK where you can pay for said item. I will then update your Merkano OR update your inventory (Which is only available to YOU and I.)

HOW TO ADOPT

Guess you found this post! Well, here are all the possible ways you could get your hands on a Merkano:

X- Through Adoptables. You can obtain Merkanos in free adoptable batches or in adoptable batches in general. If they have not been authorized by me, then these are illegal Merkanos.

X- Through Flatsales. You can obtain Merkanos through Flatsales. Check prices though. The cheapest Merkano you'll find will be 30 SB, while the most expensive, 450 SB. Don't get tricked into higher stuff.

X- Through Auctions. You can obtain Merkanos through Auctions. Auctions will be listed on the sales & buying thread for this specie and will be hosted from some days, unless the targeted bid as not been reached.

X- Through Raffles. You can obtain Merkanos through Raffles. Players can buy tickets for small prices to participate with other players to win a certain Merkano, usually the event merkano.
