You tell her she COULD take a break, but no...she won't stop until she gets it just right! --- Athena is a daughter of Hadiyah, Moon Pride's first Chief Huntress. Though some lionesses still think of her as "the Chief," Athena is now retired due to Ayomide's promotion. Athena isn't entirely happy about being supplanted by the youngster, but cannot deny Ayomide's ability and isn't immature enough to subject herself to a test of talent that she knows she will lose. Instead, the older lioness has gracefully accepted a senior position in the Chief Huntress's personal hunting party, allowing herself to take on an elder-statesman-like role among the hunters and the pride in general. Athena doesn't get discouraged or give up easily and her example is inspiring to many younger lionesses. Her refusal to fade quietly into the background despite her retirement, and her subtle but firm insistence on retaining some form of authority among her fellows, are examples of this indefatigable temperament.
