♚Queen Blackberry(2nd Queen)

She was the first King, Blondebeard's and Queen Mustikka's only cub. She resembled her mother almost to a point appearance-wise, but their personalities couldn't be more different.

Mustikka was born after many years of trying on Blondebeard's part. However, after she was born and weaned, her parents never really had any time for her as a cub. Her mother was always out hunting (humble a queen as she was) and her father was very busy (being a king).

She heard tell throughout the pride of how Blondebeard had always wanted an heir and tried for years to bring forth a son, but could rarely impregnate any lioness, and he only ever had two cubs in his lifetime. One with his ex-queen when he was very young and who abandoned his pride (and took their daughter, Princess Abira with her) and one with Queen Mustikka, Blackberry herself.

Being female, Blackberry knew she could never be king. For all the luck of being born a royal, she'd never be worth a second of her parents' time, it seemed.

A darkness quickly began to overtake Blackberry. She was extremely bitter and full of hatred. She bullied the other cubs in her youth, spewing personal insults and getting really rough with them physically. They then chose to leave her out of activities in response. And despite her being the princess, none of the adult lionesses could bring themselves to force the cubs to play with such an awfully mean young lioness.
Blackberry then spent most of her time as a cub/adol with the snakes in the savannah and even quickly learned how to charm them, at first just small ones, but soon, she could even charm even the largest and most venomous ones.

After the late King Blondbeard was crippled, she, ashamed of her father's weakness, deemed him pathetic and unfit to rule. She then left the pride as an adolescent without an ounce of hesitation.
She eventually came back, to her parents' great delight, but little did they know that she had just given birth to her firstborn cub, then hidden away in a cave nearby, a cub she never told anyone was hers... That cub was young Batty.

Blackberry was, begrudgingly on her part, betrothed to Prince Charmless, Blondebeard's, at the time, recently discovered heir. They became mates. Even long after Blondebeard's death, that was their official affiliation, but they were not at all interested in each other. Blackberry also disappeared for days at a time whenever she went into heat, pursuing other studs.

Nobody in the pride fully knew except her and Prince Charmless of their arrangement to distance themselves from each other. They just thought Blackberry was out and Charmless was a loner type, not that it was an actual conscious decision.

Nor did they know of the fact that Charmless disliked her too much to seriously want to have cubs with her and also that she had always seen him as a weakling unfit to rule. However, Charmless still wanted to keep Blondebeard's bloodline going, so he never bothered making a fuss if she had cubs with other lions.
