(♚?)Ol' Batty

Her mother Queen Blackberry (then Princess) had traitorously left the first king and her father, Blondebeard's pride after he suffered a terrible injury and was hardly able to fight. Batty is Queen Blackberry's secret firstborn cub, and only cub she has within her original pride. A lost princess.

Blackberry was pregnant with her first litter and angry at having to return to Blondebeard's "weak pride" to retain her status as a prominent lioness. She gave birth to Batty just before rejoining the pride in a nearby cave and hid her existence from the rest of the pride. Blackberry gave birth to two cubs, but the other was a stillborn male. Blackberry's reaction to having just one cub from her first litter-a female, was exceedingly cruel. While she brought food for her to prolong her suffering, she still horribly abused and scarred Batty when she was just a cub, causing her to lose her will and voice. One day, Blackberry went too far, gouging her eyes out and leaving her to bleed out and die alone...

The noble first king Blondebeard was out on patrol with a recently recruited Prince Charmless (second king) and heard sounds coming from the cave, so they went to investigate. They went in and found her lying on her side, whimpering, bleeding from both of her eye sockets.

Blondebeard hurriedly informed the pride's healers, and they did their utmost to stop the bleeding and infection from setting in. After that Blondebeard took her in and vowed that the pride would protect and care for her, for the rest of her days.

Realising the poor cub had lost her mind from the shock and trauma she went through, and could only wail and whimper, the lionesses of the pride (somewhat cruelly) dubbed her "Batty". Only Blackberry knows who she really is and of her royal blood.

Ever since Batty's near-death experience, the spirits were with her at all times, telling her to follow them...if only she could, but she can't see the light anymore...
Batty's happiest moments during her life were spent laying just outside of the cave, basking in the warmth of the sun and being groomed by the other lions, causing her to sometimes let out a faint purr.
Eventually, when her time came, she passed peacefully in her sleep.
