Piper became part of the pride at 9 months old. She had previously been held captive by the same pride that Kolivan had been born into. Her own pride had been culled by the brutes, much the same as Nebulous' pride, and she had been taken as a prisoner. It took her months of fearful living before she managed to make an escape, and a little while after that before she found Nebulous' pride. The pride allowed her to take shelter with them. A month younger than Kolivan, she was dwarfed by him as he grew to an impressive size. Her strong temper and attitude, however, were not. She became a strong line of defence for the pride. Seeing the strength and determination in Piper, from the fact that she was able to escape such a ruthless pride, Eskimin took her in to mentor her. Beginning to enter old age, Eskimin wanted to pass down her beliefs from her old pride; that it is important to be able to survive alone and battle against death with your own strength. Eskimin passed away when Piper was 2 years 5 months old.
