As predicted, Neith was spending less time with her son, Spark. And it was apparent, now that he was an adolescent. He'd rather be with his brothers and the other teenagers. Neith knew this was coming, but she didn't judge it, most females with sons would experience this sooner or later. Instead, she's found happiness in her pride. Those that were loyal to her. Over the last few weeks, she's accepting some of the newer females into her court, which was now growing more than ever.
Besides taking charge on the hunts as well, the Queen has also taken on her new role as grandmother! That's right, her daughters, Bast and Anaka, have given birth to single cubs. A daughter from Bast, named Majiva, and a son from Anaka, named Greyson. This has definitely uplifted her mood as of lately, despite Dalili scampering off to have her cubs in seclusion, and rightfully so.
With Shenandoah resting her chin on Neith's right forepaw, the Queen looked over at the rocky ledge, where Barbados was resting. There, three lionesses were sleeping next to him. Three 'pregnant' lionesses. Sundari, Spartina and Kamaria. The wicked witches in the pride.
From the moment Neith laid her eyes on them, she knew they were trouble. So far, she's kept her position over the trio, after beating their asses months ago. But now they Sundari, of all lionesses, was having the Barbados's progeny, Neith was on edge. She's certain the trio were up to something, hopefully it wouldn't cost anyone their lives.
"Just look at them." She said to Shen, "Laying next to him like he's some...righteous God. It sickens me, not to mention they're gravid? The pride is only spiraling downward." The sight of all the pride cubs playing wasn't enough to keep Neith calm now.
"Easy, Neith." Shen replied, "We all don't like this anymore than you do. But a Queen mustn't stress from this, not when she has a pride who's got her back. And a pride that needs her at her best. You're still in your pride, love. And if anything, those three are in for a rude awakening, once they get a taste of what motherhood is like. We can only hope that Barbados comes to find disappointment in them all."
Neith would nod to herself, "You're right. I wouldn't know what I'd do without you, Shen." She ran her tongue along Shenandoah's forehead, whilst her half-sister, Gianna, approached. Wishing to put Neith at ease again, they two would rub heads, as Gianna takes her place beside the Queen.
