Biography
2 1/3 cups dried cavatelli/wagon wheel macaroni
12 oz bulk Italian sausage/lean ground beef
3/4 cup chopped onion
1/2 cup chopped green sweet pepper (optional)
2 cloves of minced garlic
1 26 oz jar of tomato and basil pasta sauce
1 1/4 cups of shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 cups of sliced pitted ripe olives (optional)
1/4 tsp ground black pepper

Preheat oven to 375*. Cook the cavatelli according to package directions, then drain and set aside.

While cooking cavatelli, cook and stir sausage, onion, sweet pepper, and onion in a pan until the sausage is brown. Drain off the grease afterwards.

In a large bowl, stir pasta sauce, 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, olives, and black pepper. Add the cavatelli and sausage mixture to the bowl, then stir. Transfer the mixture to a casserole pan.

Bake while covered into preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until heated thoroughly. Uncover, then sprinkle with the remaining cheese and bake again for 5 minutes.

Enjoy!
