Aurura was brought into the pride with her brother Fuji, as a gift. Was it a gift for mercy from the well known lion killer, Groyal? Or simply in attempts to build relationships with a powerful pride, in order to gain some of that power for themselves? Who really knew, but they were accepted quite quickly. They were decently powerful, even as cubs, and only grew more into their strength, as had been expected. Aurora, however strong, was still quite unreliable. She did not seem to hold any interest in others, and was more on the selfish end of things. Herself was top priority, and even as she grew into a fine lioness, that priority didn't change. Nor did her loyalty to Groyal's pride. She wasn't particularly running around and screaming this...Of course she wouldn't. It wasn't as if she wanted to be killed, and the pride was good for food, shelter, and safety. Better than being on her own. But, it was still a mumbling awareness in the rest of the pride members that she was unreliable to the rest of them. Her first, was her motto.
On hunts, she wasn't a great team member, to say the least. If she even bothered to hunt, it was mostly for herself; snarling at any other who drew too near and usually gobbling up the food before it could even be dragged back home. It wasn't something particularly a problem, since the other lionesses dragged back pray quite often, and the pride was well fed. But it was an annoyance to the others, to say the least. They couldn't do much to convince Groyal, either, that she was useless to the pack. Because, once in a while, just to keep his favor with her, she would drag back quite a juicy catch.
Making the other lionesses seemingly liars.
They didn't really enjoy her, but they dealt with it. As long as she at least brought SOMETHING back once in a while, that was the best they could hope for, right?
The only one who seemed to get different treatment was that of her brother. Fuji. Fuji was the only one she treated as a priority, just as much as her; sometimes bringing him scraps of food herself, so they may share it and chat. She didn't seem to care about anyone else, and he was more than happy to spend time with his sister. They were inseperable. But unlike Fuji, she far more enjoyed lounging in the trees. Most of the other pride layed under them, but there was just something about the height and the view that appeased to her. You might often catch a glimpse of her tail swaying from high in the branches, where she would be taking a nap.
