We're moving in a technicolour beat.
Cyra is one of the Pantheon's newest arrivals, and her story continues to fly through the Metropolis in rumours and cub fairytales. She is known far and wide for her exotic beauty; deep fur the colour of rubies and raspberries, striking accents around her eyes, a mane that could rival that of a king.
However, Cyra wasn't always known for her beauty. In fact, up until recently, she was hardly noticed at all. She used to be a plain-coloured lioness - pleasantly sandy, but nothing eye-catching. She lived in a pride to the north of the Acropolis, where her king kept a close eye on her, fearing that her strange mane was a warning that she would one day challenge him. Cyra was nothing short of miserable in her old home.
Queen Haiku and her sisters were passing through the kingdom when Koharu, Haiku's sister, noticed Cyra huddled at the back of the pride. Koharu's heart twisted with pity, and she sat beside her. The two lionesses spoke, and Cyra was touched by Koharu's kindness; it was rare that she found a lion who was nice, much less a princess... and one as beautiful as Koharu. Koharu spoke with her sisters, and they agreed to sneak Cyra out of her kingdom and into the Acropolis.
Cyra was nervous the day Koharu led her into the Metropolis. The lionesses here were lean and strong, built for the harsh life beside the sea, and she worried that she wouldn't fit in. However, Koharu took time to show her the beat of life in the Acropolis. She taught her to fish in the rockpools, introduced her to the kingdom's broodmothers and protectors, and showed her how to weave seashell pendants in preparation for the New Moon Night. The New Moon Night was a celebration where lions welcomed the New Moon and celebrated the low tide by dancing on the shore. Lions painted their fur with exotic swirls and beat their paws against the rocks, dancing in a whirlwind of colours.
It was on this night that Cyra fell in love with the Acropolis. The lionesses here were lean and tough, but they loved each other deeply, and relished every opportunity to celebrate. She was sitting quietly on the side, content to watch the festivities, when Koharu strode up to her and invited her to dance. Cyra was nervous initially, but she accepted, allowing herself to be led into a dance.
As Cyra and Koharu swept in and out, bumping heads and brushing tails, she threw her head back and laughed... and the lions around her gasped. At first, Cyra was bewildered. However, as she looked down, she realised her fur had taken on a strange violet glow. Moonlight pooled over her fur, leaving an icy blue stain, and before the kingdom's eyes, Cyra was transformed from a shy, plain lioness, into a kaleidoscope of colour.
Nobody knows exactly what happened, or why Cyra's fur became so bright. Koharu and Sangoma Sen have come up with the theory that Cyra's love of the Acropolis awakened some kind of magic that transformed her. Cyra herself was frightfully embarrassed of the whole thing, especially the newfound attention it brought her. (Hilariously, this included Queen Haiku, who began paying the young lioness a suspicious amount of attention after she became shiny and pretty).
Cyra was moved into the Pantheon after Proxima approached Queen Haiku and requested to have her placed in here. At first, the lionesses were horrified, fearing Proxima wanted to harm her. However, the two lionesses have barely spoken, even after Cyra moved into the Pantheon. She has a tidy nest and spends a lot of time chatting with Boreas and Eurus. When curious youngsters from the Metropolis try to bother her, Proxima mysteriously appears, glaring over her shoulder, and they flee. Proxima seems to be genuinely trying to protect her.
Bro. Dude. Cool marking you got there. Get it? Ha, ha.
Your lion's fur begins to shine and shimmer, almost mirroring the sun itself, as they channel the blessing of Bast into their coat.
Your little bae noms the cow and feels weird. She feels pain in her belly. Will this affect a future cub?
