makena became a traveler at a young age, exiled from the mountains she grew up in after she befriended a small, orphaned leopard about her age. her pride was horrified upon the discovery, sending her away to wander with nothing more than her leopard friend and the little skill she had.
her travels eventually brought her to gressil. although makena was wary at first, the lion hardly batted an eye to the strange pair. it was only when she spoke up that he acknowledged her presence, makena kindly asking if she could come back with him to his pride. it didn't take much convincing, gressil bringing her back to his pride, which flourished with the ever-growing number of cubs and lioness.
she got a few weird looks here and there, but the pride still showed her kindness, which she reciprocated, repaying them in any way she could. her stay was short, but the lioness showed her the basics of hunting, giving her a better chance of survival on her own, one her birth pride didn't give her.
gressil came to her one day, explaining that he had an ally that may accept her and honeysuckle with open arms. the idea thrilled her, and despite sad to leave the pride that had taken her in, she couldn't resist the idea of others being just like her in the sense of finding odd companionship. she set off, where she happily found the pride, wishing to join...
